Dr. Philmore Josley Joseph, MD

Dr. J is a good Dr., but his staff is in control. If they don't like you, they will purposely hold back your refill requests for as long as they want. My cousin is a district attorney in another county and he said if the records prove that the staff had purposely withheld prescription refills they could be arrested for impersonating a doctor, (because only a doctor can delay medical prescriptions.) It doesn't seem worth it right now, but if some of you are getting the same treatment, call the District Attorney.

Dr. Joseph fixed my torn rotator cuff a few years back and it's now 100% functional and pain free. When the other shoulder started going out, he told me he could do a repeat of the previous procedure, which was quite painful, as is all shoulder surgery. Dr. Joseph then suggested that because the latest injury was more complicated than the first one, I should consider consulting with a sports medicine specialist who routinely performs laparoscopic surgery. That type of surgery is less invasive, but a modern procedure that Dr. Joseph has not been trained to perform. I admire his ethical decision to send me to another surgeon with the expectation that it would be in my best interest. Too many doctors fail to admit the limits of their expertise, thereby putting their patients' general health and wellbeing at risk. I wouldn't hesitate to request Dr. Joseph to treat any orthopedic problem.

Dr Joseph was reccomended to me to follow up with after visiting the emergency room. I called the office and scheduled an appointment (within 24 hours) to be seen in his office. The staff was very friendly, made my visit all the better. Dr Joseph explained to me and actually spent time showing me what happened and what would need to be done to correct the injury. Nevertheless, surgery scheduled for this week. Very impressed!

I read so many positive things about Dr. Joseph. I wish I could say I actually had an opportunity to meet him. I arrived the requested 20 minutes early to complete paperwork. I then had to wait over an hour from my scheduled appointment time to be called to the back. 1 hour and 20 minutes to be exact. I then was able to wait in the patient room for an additional 40 minutes. I then ask how many patients were still ahead of me - 2. At this point I decided my time was not valued, nor me as a patient. Yes, I understand, the doctor was on call with in the ER. Tell me that when I check in and give me the opportunity to reschedule. You KNOW you are running 2 hours behind schedule. Where is your understanding of your PATIENT'S time?

Very friendly, attentive and professional. Doctor and entire staff was engaging and extremely accommodating. Dr. Joseph always dedicated his full attention and time to us during our appointments and never made us feel rushed.

I would highly recommend Dr. Joseph to everyone. He is very professional and personable.

A friend of mine recently told me I should try to see Dr Joseph and see what he had to say about my knee. I'm so glad I listened.
