The best doctor ever

I've been a patient of Dr. Truong's for over 10 years. He knows what he's doing, and is also not afraid to ask for other opinions. I am well-cared for! I would most definitely recommend him to others.

I am a newer, current patient of Dr. Phu Trong and he seems like a nice enough guy, but could definately improve on his bedside manner.He tends to come off as condescending and slightly arrogant. He has been interuptive when I have attempted to ask questions about medications and treatment, which can be extremely frustrating!! I am still debating whether or not I will remain in his care or seek out another oncologist. I would like to add that his chemo nurses are AMAZING, they just may be the ONLY reason I stick around! He is VERY fortunate to have them representing him and taking such amazing care of his patients.

DR TRUONG IS A FANTASTIC PERSON AND DOCTOR ALL ROLLED INTO ONE. I HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH TREATMENT FOR CHRONIC IDIOPATHIC THROMBOCYTOPENIA SINCE 1994 AND WITH DR TRUONG SINCE 2012 AND WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE NEEDING AN ONCOLOGIST.

Dr Truong seemed nice enough upon meeting at our initial appointment. But, we found he's very two-faced. So glad we found a different doctor.....one who doesn't get bent out of shape if you ask for a copy of your test results; one who doesn't resent you getting a second opinon. Always get a second, just not at CCK.

One of the scariest things I have ever done was to visit the cancer center, not knowing what I would hear or who I would see. Dr. Truong immediately changed my opinion about going into a cancer center. He was professional, talkative and concerned. He explained my options clearly and completely and I felt like I truly had a friend looking out for me when I was with him. When I first walked into the clinic I was not comfortable. It was dark, strange and I saw cancer posters and literature all over the waiting room. It made me feel that I was doomed. I needed a light at the end of the tunnel and when Dr. Truong walked in to the room I felt so much better.

My father was a patient of Dr. Troung's. I live in Kansas City and of course felt my Dad should be near me to have chemo and treatments. My mom and Dad thought the world of Dr. Troung and would not change Dr's just to be closer to me. The first time Dad was hospitalized with complications with his cancer I had the priviledge of meeting Dr. Troung. From the very first minute I could tell that he genuinely cared about his patients. He already knew who I was, that I had a daughter, and that I was the daughter planning on taking Dad on a Thanksgiving trip he would never forget. He listened when Dad talked, and was there to fight for him and help us keep him around as long as we could. Dr. Troung was making his rounds in SE Kansas on the day my dad passed away so we had not seen him that morning. Dad passed away later in the evening and they paged Dr. Troung immediately and he came to the Hospice floor in the hospital to be with our family and tell us how special my dad was. This… meant the world to us. He is truly a compassionate, caring man and you can tell that he loves his patients.
