Dr. Pio Lontok Poblete, MD

Dr. Poblete has been a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. I am so grateful he is my doctor.

Dr. Pio Poblete is an absolute professional. We (my family) have been really searching for a great Primary Care Physician In Columbia, MD for a long time. Dr. Poblete came highly recommended from another well trusted specialist. From the get go, this is my down to earth honest opinion about Dr. Poblete. Dr. Poblete is extremely caring, loving, and compassionate. He does NOT rush his patients as many other doctors do. He listens to you and your health complaints and concerns very carefully. He really spends his valuable time (up to an hour and never looks at his watch) with patients without rushing you. Of course, Dr. Poblete does not smile as often as you like or chit chat as other money centric doctors do. While Dr. Poblete is looking down, he is actually listening to everything you are saying to him. He is very gentle and NOT arrogant as other doctors I came across. I can personally vouch that Dr. Poblete absolutely cares and is a well trained compassionate physician under… the Johns Hopkins Hospital umbrella. Dr. Poblete, after carefully listening to my symptoms, rushed me to the ER and saved my life from a mass heart attack. Today I am alive primarily because of my God and Doctor Poblete. I could really see his compassion, concerns, and care in his eyes as he rushed me to the ER. For me Dr. Poblete is a God sent guardian angel. He is a miracle worker. Any day at any time, I will trust mine and my family’s lives in the blessed hands of Dr. Poblete. Thank YOU, Doctor Poblete for all you do for your patients that trust their lives in your blessed hands.

The worst Dr. visit ever! I will not go back nor recommend him. Spent 5 min max. Did not ask any questions about my history, medication I take. I think visiting a robot would have been more useful than visiting him.

I think he is basically competent, but he irritated the heck out of me once when I waited two weeks for an appointment and went in with two different problems (sinus and stomach). Normally he doesn't say very much, but when I told him about the two conditions he got mad and told me I should have made two different appointments. I gave him my views on that one!

I just can't figure out how this doctor ends up an hour behind when he only spends 6 minutes in an exam room.

I went to Dr. Poblete for many years. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have an opinion on ANYTHING. I could go in and tell him what I think my diagnosis is, how much medicine I'd like to take, and what specialists I'd like to see, and he would just agree with whatever I said and never offer any opinion. He's courteous and does a decent job of following up, but I'm looking for more than that in a doctor.

Dr. Poblete has been my primary care physician off and on for 15 years. I've moved to TX, NJ and GA and will have always returned to his office. He is very attentive and follows-up on every little thing. He is an excellent asset to the Howard County medical community.

This is just my opinion - rude, desmissive, mean and nervous. Those are all traits that Dr. Poblete displayed during my appointment and are things that I avoid when finding a doctor. Less then 1 star.

You could not find a better doctor. If he is not sure of your problem then he will refer you. I have been with him for many years and he is one of the best I have seen. Great bedside manner and very cautious if it is something serious. I went in there with some chest discomfort and he did an EKG which was fine but sent me next door to the ER. I was told by a nurse it is because in the ER they will get blood results within an hour and know if it is cardiac related or not.
