Dr. Plas Terrence James, MD

Dr. James and his staff are an exceptional group of people. You will not be able to find a more knowledgeable group. I suffered from a broken spine under the care of other physicians for over six years. Dr. James was very direct about my situation and insisted upon surgery. Following his recommendation, the surgery was flawless. I recovered in record time with no pain medication. I now can enjoy a quality life with my family and friends. Thank you Dr. James!

My son had a minor sports injury. We needed to see a specialist to explain the injury and put us on a path of recovery. Dr. James provided a comprehensive explanation and exam. We paid out of pocket for a peace of mind.

Here is my advice, stay away from Dr. Plas James. There are more bad reviews about him out there than I would like to see for a doctor, and if you want to know more about my reasons here they are. I went to see him for my lower back pain problem and the first visit went well and I had no complains, but when I went back to get my exams results things were quite different. After waiting for a full hour, I was seen by Dr. James' PA. I didn't see Dr. James that day. His PA broke the news to me and told me that if I wanted to be active again, my only solution was a surgery and I should have it as soon as possible. He told me my problem was a ticking bomb! That I was in risk of having permanent nerve damage on my left leg and physical therapy could worsen my problem. They tried to get the surgery scheduled on that same day. Are you kidding me? After a few tears cried, I went out seeking second and third opinions only to find out that sending a patient straight to surgery in a case like mine… is just bad practice. Under the guidance of another doctor I started Pilates and Physical Therapy. The results were almost immediate. Only 2 to 3 months later I could live a normal life, without any pain. Recovery of course is slow and I should still be careful when lifting heavy weights, doing sports, etc, but I'm confident that sooner than later I will have no restrictions. And all without surgery! If this wasn't still enough for you here is a sketchy thing that happened. When I scheduled my first visit, his secretary on the phone told me that Dr. James was in network for my insurance. When they called me to give me a quote for my surgery, they told me that he is actually not in network and that would have to pay him outside of my insurance coverage. If that's not a huge red flag I don't know what would be. Hope this was helpful!

Awesome practice. I have known Dr. James for over fifteen years feel one hundred percent confident with him and his staff. While I was an Atlanta resident, Dr. James performed surgery on my back twice. Next month, I will be returning to him from halfway across the country for a third surgery. Can’t imagine trusting my spine to anyone else as each surgery has been completely successful—eliminating all pain and returning me to an optimal quality of life. Although I am not looking forward to a third surgery, I have full confidence in Dr. James’ ability and know he’ll take great care of me.

After being sick with nerve/neck/occipital pain for so many years, i finally feel like I have hope! Dr. James really took the time to get to the bottom of my problem and disease and is steering me in the right direction with an amazing follow up plan of action. I am leaving here VERY hopeful!!

He was compassionate and thorough with information!

I'm not sure why I hadn't heard about Dr. James before my visit, but he did what no orthopedic doctor has done for me as far back as I can remember. HE LISTENED TO ME. He took the time to review the records and MRI’s I brought with me; he had extensive x-rays done while I was in his office and he took the time to explain his diagnosis step by step and he gave me referrals for additional tests which will hopefully confirm the same. His staff was professional and courteous. I will without a doubt follow up/follow through with Dr. James.

Dr.James and his team are incredible. From pre surgery office visits to post surgery office visits, even physical therapy they were very attentive to whatever concerns or questions I had. May The Lord continue to pour His Blessings upon Dr. James and his entire team.
