Dr. Pooja Banerjee, MD

I arrived for a new patient appt 30 min early. But after waiting to see the doctor for over 2 hrs I got frustrated and left. The funny thing is..they have a sign in the window advising they have the right to cancel your appt if youre over 15 min late. I guess our time isnt as valuable as hers. Shes so important.

I've never spent so much time in waiting rooms and so little time with a doctor as I have at Dr. Banerjee's office. Not only have I been kept waiting at EVERY appointment (no matter the time of day), there has never been any acknowledgment of my patience or their lateness. The staff has been quite rude all around, and Dr. Banerjee has literally left my appointment in the middle of talking to me to take a phone call and never returned. She does not care about any symptom that does not show up in lab work and is not interested in how the patient is affected personally by their illness. Don't do this to yourself – see another doctor.

It’s taken me awhile to even write this review after my traumatic experience with Dr. Banerjee and her staff. I’ll start with the fact I could wait up to two hours to see the Dr. That is completely unacceptable. When I did finally get into a room her nurse was incredibly rude. I told the Dr. how rude the nurse was and she could not have cared less. I had just had my 2nd child and was having horrible flare ups- she put me on Humira. It seemed to be working alright but my insurance needed verification. Her office would not provide it. I would call and call and nothing. I asked for samples to get me through and she was always out. One time she told me to drive over to get a sample and they said they “just ran out”. I was in tremendous pain. I felt helpless. I was emotional in an appt Becca use I was in so much pain and she told me to suck it up. She is heartless. It took me a few months to get another appt with another Rheumatologist but I’m so glad I did. He changed my life- he took the… effort to get me on Xeljanz. His staff is wonderful. I’m happy to make the drive to Allen because they take such good care of me. Do yourself a favor and avoid Dr. Banerjee at all costs. Go see Dr. John Lavery- he will take great care of you!

I’ve been with Dr Banerjee for quite a few years. She is an amazing doctor and takes her time in the room with you, like you’re her only patient for the day. Her front desk team is awesome and very accommodating when I need to reschedule or can’t remember my appointment time. Her nurse is very sweet but proficient. She gets the necessary information and goes to the next patient. If you are in a hurry try to get one of the first few appointments of the day or right after lunch. I do this and have hardly any wait time.

Dr. Banerjee is a great doctor and a good listener. There have been challenges with her staff in the past but she has all new staff and I think it's a good change. I've been seeing her for ten years.

Had an excellent visit and left completely satisfied. Would definetly recommend to my family and friend.

Dr. Banerjee is always late! The nurse is RUDE!!! The nurse will not call in your prescriptions. She will not call you back if you have a question. The worse thing aboput this office is I told Dr. Banerjee how the nurse Joann was and she ignored my complaint. I got my records and moved on to another doctor.

Dr. Banerjee has been taking very good care of me! She is very thorough and yes, her appts may take time, but that is because she focuses on you and every patient is different. She listens and offers the best approach to my care, my future is not the best outcome, but she is working to slow down what is happening and manage and make it less painful.

My rheumatologist retired & she was one of the rheumatologist recommended that i transfer my care to. i When trying to discuss my needs on the phone, she cut me off repeatedly every time I tried to say anything & stated my care with her was withheld until i see a gastroenterologist due to anemia. (My blood count had actually improved over the last several months & was better than when I had major bone surgery earlier this year). I can understand asking me to see a gastroenterologist, but I don't understand canceling my appointment with her that week & withholding my rheumatology care (including infusion meds) until seeing & getting full gastroenterologist & having full work up, (which will take several weeks), because she said wants faced report of their completed findings. This leaves me a time of increased pain & difficulty for an extended period of time & complicates my progression in other areas of treatment which I am receiving.

I have been seeing Dr. Banerjee for 4 or 5 years now. I hope I will always have her as my rheumatologist. I was in a horrible situation when I first went to her. I was very sick and had no idea what was wrong. She actually spent 3 hours with me (in and out) in the exam room on my first visit. She is a dear, dear person and knows what she is doing. I feel so very fortunate to have her as my doctor.
