Dr. Poongodi Chandrasekaran, MD

I have been going to Dr. Chandrasekaran for about 7 years now. She has always taken the time to listen to my concerns and taken the time to explain anything I did not understand, asked about my spouse and child without provocation, and has generally been a great PCP for me. My spouse is an NP working for the same company (though not the same location) and she has always been open to my and/or my spouse's thoughts on treatments.

Dr. Chandra is rude, shows little concern, has poor bedside manner, and hardly listens to her patients. She is very clinical and strives to spend as little time with you as possible. Her assessments are brief (if she chooses to do one). She does not listen to patient's health concerns and lacks communication that is necessary for understanding treatments. The worst physician I have ever seen. Do not go to her.

I would agree. She had incredibly bad patient/doctor communication skills, disregarded any issues that I wanted to talk to her about and was a very poor listener. She did not inquire about how I was doing and she didnt want to touch me.

Dr. Chandrasekaran has a horrible bed side manner, pushes middle eastern medicine, and does not take the time to listen. I had been a patient of Dr. Richard Alexander at the North Shore Physicians Group for 13 years and he was wonderful, sadly he retired. I had an appointment with Dr. Chandrasekaran and she was rude, insulted my last doctor (who I loved), and was very dismissive of my concerns. I would never go to her again. I even called the licensing board on her. Stay away from this doctor!
