Dr. Prabhaker Somabhai Patel, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for over 20 years. He is very compassionate and understanding. A few years ago I moved out of the area but still travel back a few hours to see him for my visits.

I find Dr. Patel a very good Psychiatrist he has help me when no orther doctor has in the past. The only negitive is perscription meds are expensive on my rx plan.

He is a joy

Nearly impossible to get an appointment the first time. Once there the staff was pleasant and helpful, but the doctor only spent 5 minutes with me before writing a prescription and sending me on my way. On my second visit I was again treated like a number, then had to explain, why I was asking to have my medication adjusted... again, because he didn't listen to me on my first visit! If you're looking for actual care, find another doctor.

Dr. Patel and staff are extremely unprofessional. They do NOT attend to the patient's well-being. Emergency calls are NOT responded. Appointments are NOT recorded on a computer; therefore, confusion with handwritten calenders contribute to their terrible organizational record system.

It's so hard to get the office on the phone. They have "phone hours". They are in the office, but they don't answer. You leave a message during "phone hours" of 9-4, then they call you back when they are ready. If you call and it's not "phone hours" the recording says "Do not leave a message." It took me days to talk to a person to make my appointment. The first available appointment was weeks away. In the office I waited almost an hour to see him. When I saw him he complained to me that I wait too long between appointments!

office staff is rude

Did they remove 2 ratings from this Dr? It says 3. I only know that In my experience the entire place is rude RUDE RUDE. They were yelling at a patient when I was sitting there in the waiting room. They got in that patients face. I felt uneasy and traumatic watching and listening.
