Dr. Pragna Piush Patel, MD

She's not understanding, she has this sour attitude about her. She needs to go back to school relearn physchology or update the practices because she misdiagnoses people and hands out strong drugs like candy. S also doesnt know what getting off medication means. Dont see her i youre trying to do that. Lucky enough I stuck with my guns because shes not helpful at all an disapproved o her the first visit. She likes to mock you an make you think youre crazy when you're not. Shes everything a physchatrist SHOULDNT be. Terrible example your choice if you wanna find out.

This psychiatrist is almost a joke after seeing her 3 times. The 1st visit she had me fill out a questionairre. From that she prescribes a strong medicine with only 3 other questions. She was mainly worried about the copay and the next visit. In the waiting room you can almost hear her talking with patients in her office. She has no office staff and no answering service on the weekends. What a sham.

Too busy and a total lack of empathy. In fact, she seems to be more interested in her self and others than she is in the patient. Don't go to her if you want someone to really take an interest in your and the reasons you're seeing a Psychiatrist in the first place! Research and go somewhere else.

Put me on medicine for seizures and was misdiagnosed. I went to emergency room.Had to detox from meds.

been going to her for 5 years after expressing concern over type and length of time on medication she says we'll just lower the dosage. After checking with my insurance I see that they are being charged $90 each and every monthly 5 minute visit. Today I called to speak to another dr. to try and get a proper evaluation to see if these meds are necessary after all these years and when I mentioned her named he said and really trying to be diplomatic..."She has a reputation for being loose with the scripts" So if you simply want drugs..go see her. If you want true care, as in a PROPER diagnoses, and treatment go see someone else. I feel that she regards us as just a dollar amount through her door and nothing else.

My first and only visit with Dr. Patel was run at lightning speed- she took hardly any info about my extensive background and issues, answered her personal cell twice during out 15 minute visit and sent me on my way with a script. The mental health system is hard enough to navigate and the medicine portion of things is too important to be run like a drive thru window. I will not be returning.

A visit with Dr. Patel is like a speed date. She'll spend 10 or 15 minutes with you, write a prescription, and then she's ready for another patient.My therapist likes Dr. Patel because she will usually follow his recommendations for medication. So if you have a good therapist, I suppose Dr. Patel is OK because she doesn't waste your time. Just don't go to her expecting any care or empathy.

After a few sessions of 10 minutes and billing the insurance company 30 minutes, I find my experience not worth the $40.00 co-pay.

Dr. Patel is running a successful business based on quick evaluation and revolving door script writing. One time she ate a take out meal through my appt. She was annoyed the one time I contacted her - at my therapist's advice - at home. It is as if she is not even there - her staff are super effcient about billing, the waiting room is packed with desperate people - a completely depressing experience. And I kept going back, thinking I had no choice. She likes to chastise her patients like children. I honestly feel she should work in hospitals only. Or at an insurance company.

Dr. Patel does not complete the required intake assessment, she does not review current medications prior to prescribing and her attitude toward patient care is indifferent, bordering on hostile. I would not recommend her to anyone.
