Dr. Prathima Moorthy, MD

The procedures do help. The injections are a scary thought, but, not as bad in reality. It is the best way to solve muscle/bone pain. Medication may be needed, but don't think you are going to come here for pain meds without detailed research.

Dr. Moorthy knows what she is doing. She is a very get to the point and get it solved doctor. I am not saying this is good or bad. She is not a touchy feely Dr. If you need someone to look you in the eye, hold your hand, then put their arm around you and tell you that everything is going to be alright when it isn't, this isn't your place. The nurses are pleasant and competent. Her PA knows what she is doing. Some of the office staff though are absolutely horrible. I live in Florida during the winter. I flew back to Florida to have a Medial Branch Block in my lumbar. When I arrived at their office I was told that the insurance company had not approved the procedure yet and I would have to reschedule or pay for the procedure. I said that I would pay for the procedure if they would help me recoup my money from the insurance company and they agreed. But they didn't help me. A couple of weeks after the procedure I was told by Moorthy's head of billing that she wasn't going to submit the… bill to the insurance company because I agreed to pay for it with a credit card. They are now reluctantly helping me. I have talked to their office 15 or 20 times. The insurance company says that Dr. Moorthy's office is dropping the ball. The Dr.'s staff say that it isn't their fault. Who knows? All I know is I need help. I try to be nice and keep my composure when I talk to the office staff but these people are just mean. You can tell that they talk about you behind your back because they say things like "OUR OFFICE MANAGER ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT". Wow!!!! Unfortunately I need their help to get reimbursed. This is still ongoing. I just received my credit card statement. Dr. Moorthy's office billed me twice for the procedure. I called their billing office numerous times. They put me on hold, let it go to voice mail or just hang up. My phone number must appear on their telephone screen. It is there way of showing me who is boss. They just don't care. It is a real shame. The office staff ruins all the good the doctor, the PA and the nurses have done. If you asked for my opinion on whether you should go to Dr. Moorthy or not I would say no. You go to a pain specialist to help relieve your pain. But pain can be physical and mental. Why get physically helped by one part of their office but then get mentally abused by the staff?

Your staff who is under your direction have used the platform you provide just to make money. To create appointments and the client pays a fee and sees no doctor is wrong. To then state for the client to make another appointment and stay in pain until then is wrong. Your fear is the reason that guides you. You classify your clients as if they aredrug addicts and nothing more. I won't pay a penny for your services an do because of your actions I will never trust your location or its medical staff.

I just love Dr. Moorthy. I have had several neck injections and she really listened to me to how bad they have hurt me in the past by other doctors and she came through taking her time and talking me through the whole procedure. I also love that her husband is right there. I’m a rectal cancer survivor and due to the 30 rounds of radiation I have severe lower abdominal pain. Even though I’m in remission I still am unable to control bm’s. He’s done my colonoscopies and is also an excellent doctor. So thank you so much for helping me and continue to help others!

I was having problems with Back and leg pain. I didn’t want to take a lot of medications. I had no quality of life. I had a friend that referred me to Dr Moorthy. I am very glad that I found her practice. After several injections and some therapy I feel much better and have my life back! Thank you Dr Moorthy

I told Dr Moorthy that I thought I had sciatica (self diagnosed), and was given shots for it. She knew the pain was going down the front of my leg telling her it felt like shin splints. She gave me the shots anyways. The relief lasted for one week. An updated MRI was suggested. When it came back, all she told me was that things had gotten a little worse. A review of the MRI by a Neurologist revealed my L4 vertebrae as the culprit. Sciatica does not run down the front of the leg. How a pain doctor did not pick this up in consultation or when she saw the MRI troubles me. What's even more troubling is that she gave me shots I didn't need. She is quick to get you in and out. You have to pry information from her as well. She charged Medicare $2000.00 for the shots and was paid around $200.00 for them. I tolerated it for awhile. No more.

I was disabled in an auto accident 16 years ago and experience high levels of pain. Dr. Moorthy has shown patience and never ended kindness to me as we have worked through the modalities that work or not work for me. She has made my life bearable and I am eternally grateful to her.

I own a barber shop and was about to give it up due to neck and back pain. I now can work again after the interventions this MD provided. She saved me and my shop. Thank you.

I also did not like the experience at this doctors office. I felt like they were all about getting me to get the injection and when I questioned this course of action, the dr. told me I was free to leave if I didn't like her suggestion. Everything was rushed and she didn't take the time to listen to me at all. Also, the bill was over 1000$ for two visits.
