Dr. Prativa Basnet, MD

All the online reviews are accurate. Dismissive and unprofessional and makes things unnecessarily difficult. This physician is always rescheduling or cancelling due to family issues or personal issues. I think she should consider a new career path.

Doctor rescheduled due to "family" issues; She asks a question while looking at screen and does NOT listen! Speaks the notes she is writing in the system which do NOT match what was just discussed. Her ideas/prognoses sound and feel half-baked and grabbing at straws. If you need a physical exam, beware - she rushes through the basics (ex: touches the scope to the chest for a fraction of a second in each spot, all while talking - how on earth can you hear anything if you are talking while trying to listen to breathing and heart?). She is ROUGH when giving a vaginal exam. I mean ROUGH!! Awful and unapologetic. She stood on my left side while looking at my skin on the right side of my body. I suggested she might be able to see a bit better if she walked around to the other side of the table. The breast exam was a joke! So bad that I asked why most doctors I have seen before have you lie down and put your arm behind your head when doing an exam - why was she having me sit up with my arms… hanging down? She laughed dismissively. And again, she really does not listen at all.

Dr. Basnet is a kind, caring and understanding doctor. A visit with her makes you really feel heard and respected.

While, booking an appointment is easy, it's hardly honored. My appointment was rescheduled 4 times and at the last moment (once, even within 12 hours of appointment time). The explanation I got was that Dr. had to attend to her family. This shows that the time management is zero. Additionally, when I ask the Dr. about my routine problems, like hair loss, etc. I get a standard answer.. 'IT HAPPENS'. The Dr. doesn't seem to take interest in my medical problems and apparently I do not get the right answers. Moreover, looks like the Dr. has communication problems. She doesn't understand what you have to stay and makes you repeat several times, and in the end I just had to give-up. When I see my hard-earned insurance contribution going down the drain, it hurts a lot as I have limited means.

Rude and arrogant, she is without a doubt THE worst Dr. I have ever dealt with! No medical knowledge or background. Makes up some diagnosis and won't even spend the time discussing other issues. Just walks out of the office if she doesn't want to hear what you have to say. Prescribed the wrong dosage of medicine and then blamed me for not getting better. My health has only gotten worse since seeing her. I have resigned to treating myself. She told me I was too fat and she couldn't help me at all!

Worst doctor ever. Doesn’t care about me. I have several health issues and she did not listen nor care. I have severe anxiety and vomit everyday. She ordered no teats and gave no suggestions as to how to cope or get help with my issues!

I have been a patient of Dr. Basnet for one year, mostly because the office is close to home. Every time I was sick I dreaded going into her office because she was not only EXTREMELY RUDE but also lacked medical knowledge in my opinion. One time I had a fever and was throwing up for 4 days straight, it didn't seem normal. I went to See Dr. Basnet and she was rude as usual, said I was fine and that I should go home, didn't bother asking about how high my fever was, didn't bother to figure out a solution as to why I had such high ever for basically a week. She talked down to me and made me feel stupid. Trust me when I say this don't waste your time and money on this Dr. The rest of the staff was really nice though.

Very surprised how bad this Doctor was with her bedside manner. She was in a rush and didn't listen to any of my issues. I think she missed that class in med school for patient care. I would go else if your looking for a good doctor.

First off, the staff (Jackie and Anna) are both extremely kind, but Dr. Basnet was rude, condescending, and dismissive. I've had random stomach cramping and a couple bouts of constipation for 2 weeks now. Within 5 mins, she deduced that the cramping was caused by constipation and the constipation was caused by "not enough fiber" and just left. Completely ignored my family's history with gluten intolerance and food allergies. Refused to do any other testing and told me to "just eat less meat."

Wanted to give me the same ten year vaccine this year that she had given me last year. Was not recorded, but I had the receipt. Did not want to give me antibiotics for upper respiratory infection, but went to clinic same day, and the doctor there told me I had an infection and started me on antibiotics and was better in two days. Nice lady, but not great doctor. Seems there is a revolving door for nurse practitioners. Staff is great, though.
