Dr. Punit Chadha, MD

After determining I had a lesion on my liver from an ultrasound, I had a CT scan and then a biopsy. I was referred to Texas Oncology by my GI Doctor and got an appointment with Dr. Chadha within a few days. Dr. Chadha was great. Calm, confident and very knowledgeable. We were pretty scared but although he didn't minimize the danger of this cancer, he said that it looked as if it was localized. He ordered a PET scan to see if this cancer had spread anyplace. Then set up an appointment with Dr. McKenzie, the surgeon, for a week later. I also had several vials of blood taken in the office before I left. I was pretty impressed with the efficiency of the office. I was sent to an excellent surgeon in the practice, Dr. McKenzie. He operated on me. I was very lucky as this was caught early enough that I didn't require radiation or chemo. A year later, I'm clear and being checked twice yearly. Dr. Chadha was terrific!

Husband was under the care of Dr Chadha for a year. After last chemo treatment Dr Chadha said well you won't be under my care any more, I recommend home Hospice. Husband passed almost two weeks later. Family is still waiting, after six weeks, for condolences from Dr Chadha. Even husband's PCP called, who husband hadn't seen in months, to offer his sympathies.

I just can't describe how awful this experience was for my family. I regretfully have to advise anyone with cancer to get a second opinion after seeing this physician.

He is friendly, concise, answers questions well, and makes his patients and their families feel very comfortable and confident. HIGHLY recommended!

As a 3-time cancer survivor, I can attest to the expertise of Dr. Chadha. I have been dealing with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma since 1987 and now breast cancer. My team: surgeon, Dr. Chris Bailey, and radiologist, Dr. Ryan Tierney, headed by Dr. Chadha took charge and came up with a plan specific to me. It was a good experience due to Dr. Chadha and my team and their staffs explaining the diagnosis and combined effort to help me rid myself of this recent cancer. I don't mind waiting for Dr. Chadha, as I know he will also give me the time I need to feel confident with the plan he and his team colleagues have devised for me. I am glad he is not typing but rather looking at me and most importantly he listens and then calmly explains his recommendations for treatment. I feel fortunate to have chosen him as my oncologist here in the Austin area. Thank you, Dr. Chadha.

Have been seeing Dr. Chadha for about two and a half years. His is professional in every way and takes the time to assure he listens to your concerns and is puts you at ease with his questions and explanations assuring you are continuing to do well. Would rate Dr. Chadha among best doctors we have seen. We were referred by a friend who raved about him also. The staff at Tx. Oncology are also so fantastic. Thank you ALL!

My grandpa was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia.. We trusted this doctor and wasted 3 months here. My grandpa was sent home to die and live up to only a day or two. But a Miracle happened.. As soon as he rejected his treatments and requested to leave the hospital he recovered 90% he is now walking, eating, and driving again like a normal person. This doctor only worries about $$$ he wants to drag you there until he could take whatever he could from your insurance.

I wasted three years of my life with this man. He is the most impersonal " Doctor " I have ever met. A few times while arriving back from several vacations he had, he would actually forget my diagnosis and who I was ! He never greeted my family in a caring way, actually wouldn't even acknowledge them. . The consultations where no more than a few minutes. I regret ever putting my life in his hands. Now I find my self at MD Anderson fighting to survive with the mess he left in my stomach. I'm extremely sad and mad that some one has such a low quality of care for innocent patients. Thanks to God,faith and MD Anderson. I will continue to survive.

The only thing Chadha is concerned about is his bank account. My friend discovered he had cancer at the young age of 31, and when he first met Punit Chadha he asked if M.D. Anderson would be a better choice for his care. Big surprise: the brilliant doctor decided to string my friend along for as much insurance money as he could get rather than do what was best for him. He suffered for years while this crackpot kept information hidden and continuously treated him with no results. When we visited M.D. Anderson in Houston they actually told us that Chadha made the cancer WORSE by his ineptitude. If you or a loved one has cancer, please ignore this guy and seek proper help elsewhere. It just seemed like Dr. Chadha didn't care at all, he always forgot who my friend was when they had an appointment. I guess keeping people sick is a lucrative business. After all, how else will be pay for his fabulous vacations twice a year?
