I don't go to doctors often, so when I call to make an appointment, I need to be seen ASAP. After 6 calls to local doctors who I couldn't make an appointment to be seen from 3 up to 10 days, I called Dr. Raj who spoke to me personally and set up an appointment for the same day. My first experience with Dr. Raj was like traveling back in time to the days when patients were not just a pot of money for Drs. to charge insurance companies, It was like finding Dr. Marcus Welby, from the 70's TV show or finding one of the few doctors that still practice the bedside manner of the "Ole Country Doctor". He is concerned with your whole health at every visit and not just what you came into him be seen for that day. You will never feel that you are just one person in a patient queue that he has to service to get paid. Dr. Raj takes the time to actually speak to you and subtley find out what's going on in your life that may be affecting or potentially affecting your overall health.Also, he is a… "toucher" and "feeler" and tries to secretly find out things through touch and observation. So you will never leave his office feeling that all he did was ask you to tell him what you thought was wrong with you and just prescribed medicine.Perhaps this might be because aside from being a primary care physician he is also an internist with an additional medical specialty n cardiology. One might argue that he might do this to get be for future business and additional charge backs,but at the same time one can argue as to whether or not it is better to support preventative activities and assessments rather than having his relationship with you have to turn from one of a primary care patient into a cardiac patient. Dr. Raj is one of the few doctors that I have seen in the last 20 years that I would strongly recommend to anyone. He has 2 offices. And your records will travel to the office of your appointment. I would recommend that you try to see him in his Waldorf Office if conditions allow.
