Dr. Quinton Victor Cancel, MD

Dr. CANCEL is excellent. I have had 2 procedures with him .One procedure was the TURP procedure. After going on Google I was afraid to go thru with it because the procedure got bad reviews..not that the reviews were patients that had it done by Dr. Cancel but other doctors. I almost canceled my surgery but I decided to trust Dr. Cancel. Step by step it went just as he said. Now at 69 years old I can urinate like a young man again!! Thank you Dr. Cancel S. Dr. Cancel did the Turp procedure on me a few months ago and it went exactly as he said it would. I was reading reviews of the procedure on several websites and almost backed out but decided to trust Dr. Cancel. He was always very friendly and patient on each visit. I am so happy I trusted him...because the procedure worked, went just as he said did not go home with a catheter and now I am urinating like a teen ager! Not bad for 69 yrs old.

I was scheduled to get a vasectomy but he cancelled on me twice! The first time he cancelled the day before the surgery and the second time he cancelled as soon as I checked in at their office. That second time, I had already taken a Valium and took time off work and rescheduled other commitments to get there. This is completely unprofessional! The clerical staff tried to get another doctor to complete this minor surgery that day after I asked them to, but the other doctor did not want to “take another doctor’s patient.” Needless to say I will not be going back to a place that cares so little for their clients.

Dr. Cancel listened to me, evaluated my condition thoroughly, explained treatment options clearly, and I recovered from surgery quickly. Our relationship was friendly, caring, and respectful. I was very favorably impressed with Dr. Cancel.

Dr. Cancel removed a 2 mm stone on Monday for me and put in a stent. On Tuesday, when I was having horrific burning and unable to urinate I went into the office and he did not even exam me to see if there was a problem with the stent. Instead he sent me on my way with two useless prescriptions, one that the hospital pharmacy does not even carry in stock and the other that can take up to 8 days to take effect. To make a long story short, the stent has moved, the string detached and I am in extreme discomfort only to be told I have to wait another week to have the stent surgically removed by the doctor. Had he seen me on Tuesday when I went in I would not be in this position but he communicated through a nurse, gave me two useless prescriptions and sent me on my way.

The way doctor Cancel treated my dad before and after his prostrate surgery was great. He had a great bedside manner you just don't see any more. He seemed very concerned about my dad and made sure my elderly parents understood what he was saying. I can't thank him enough for all he has done (and he went above what another doctor would). We knew going in about the chance that my dad will have issues with things and it was either cancer or dealing with the issues of the surgery. Thanks Doctor Cancel from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Cancel performed a Coaptite Injection procedure, which he said would improve my stress incontinence. However, the day after my procedure my condition did not improve but rather became worse - I had no control over my bladder leakage. He was very unsympathetic claiming he did nothing wrong with the procedure, saying since I did not see what he did how could I say he did something wrong. Up until this procedure, I had complete confidence with him since he removed my prostrate and inserted a sling to help with my incontinence. I have lost all confidence with Dr. Cancel in the way he has treated me since my last procedure.

Excellent treatment..very thorough..makes sure you understand every aspect of your treatment. Very personable

Not exactly stellar reviews, with 10 yrs. experience and reviews like this, maybe it's time to change what you're doing.

Be wary of this place. Called in advance to find out how much my initial consultation would be and was quoted $130. I pay and get seen to not really have anything more than be told something I already knew. Then, after I get home, I learn that they are charging me $190 and say I still owe them $60!
