Dr. Rachel Joann Laven, DO

Dr. Laven was not my regular OB during my pregnancy, but I saw her for my first visit after 40 weeks when my usual provider was out of the office. As a first-time mom, I came into the appointment knowing that induction would likely be discussed, but I was also feeling a lot of anxiety and emotion around the process. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Laven was disappointing. During the visit, I felt talked down to and that my anxiety wasn’t acknowledged or met with compassion. My questions were often answered in a way that made me feel dismissed and inadequate, which only increased my distress — I was even in tears at one point. After our discussion, I was sent for testing and waited over an hour for her to review the results before being allowed to leave. I’ve never felt so unheard or discouraged by a healthcare provider before. As a first-time mom navigating everything for the first time, I would not recommend Dr. Laven based on my experience.

Dr. Laven has always been positive, friendly, gentle, and kind. She has always taken my concerns seriously, and genuinely listened to and remembered what I said. I have always left her office with a smile and a light heart.

Dr. Laven has been my doctor through two pregnancies. She takes a genuine interest in my health and takes the time to listen to and address my concerns. She is always available for questions and is proactive about following up with patients regarding their health.

Dr. Laven has been wonderful and so helpful. Dr. Laven is proactive, knowledgeable, and sincere!
