Dr. Rachel Loewy, PhD

Rachel helped me when I was transitioning into adulthood, just beginning to recover from my clinical depression and a suicide attempt. She was kind, intelligent, and professional all the way throughout, and was incredibly supportive during a really rough period of my life. Rachel has a very classical sounding board approach to therapy that was a little off putting at first (I was used to my old therapist, who was a very interactive, tell-it-like-it-is type), but after I got used to it a little more and cooperated better (because let's be honest, part of it was just me being resistant to change) I realized how much her approach helped me learn to communicate with myself and with others. I learned how to better understand my own feelings and needs, and how to manage my relationships with others. If you're looking for an off-the-wall eccentric type to explain all of your problems to you, she may not be the right fit. But if you genuinely want to understand yourself and your… experiences better and if you are willing to work and be honest with her, she is incredibly helpful. And super nice and funny too!
