I had two consult visits prior to today’s surgery by Dr. Shakked at Riddle Surgery Center. At every step, Dr. Shakked showed understanding while clearly explaining the procedure and the risks vs.benefits. Today’s procedure went smoothly and I’d gladly recommend Dr. Shakked, Rothman Institute and the Riddle Surgery Center to anybody seeking high quality care.

Dr. Shakked cared for our D1 College Lacrosse playing son, who after injuring his ankle in a game -- continued to play on it for the entire season. The college trainer and coach brought our son to Dr. Shakked after 11 games, when he could barely walk. She carefully diagnosed his problem and worked through every alternative to surgery -- including a summer of physical therapy and continuous review for marked improvement. While we heard wonderful things about Dr. Shakked from the college trainer and our son, we still took our son to our recommended Orthopaedic Surgeons in our NYC hometown. (Who could have better resources than the top ankle docs in NYC?) Everyone concurred with Dr. Shakked and from everyone we met in NYC, she received the highest recommendations and compliments. We finally met her at 6:30am, the morning of the surgery. She was amazingly thorough, incredibly informative in explaining the processes of the surgery and one of the most personable doctors we've ever met. (Yes,… she looked incredibly young to be doing such intricate surgery -- but within two minutes of meeting her, we knew her youthful smile and impeccable bedside manner was just an added bonus to her expertise.) She made us totally comfortable with the steps of the surgery, the time to anticipate and the recovery process. After the 2.5-hour arthroscopic surgery, she met with us as promised and showed us photos of the bone removed -- along with excessive scar tissue. While we questioned having the surgery done in Philly, the confidence that the sports personnel team from our son's college was reassuring -- but our in-person experience gave us 100% confidence. We highly recommend Dr. Shakked. She is totally amazing.
