Dr. Shakov spent more time with me than any other doctor. She put me at ease and explained in detail her thoughts and reasoning for doing things. She truly cares about her patients.

I found the staff of Dr. Rada Shakov 's office to be very polite and helpful. I was reluctant to try a new doctor, but Dr. Shakov came highly recommended. She put me at ease as soon as she called me into her office. I found her questions thorough. She explained the procedure both the pros and cons. The staff at the colonoscopy center from the nurses to the very nice anesthesiologist were so reassuring and could not do enough to make you comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Shakov with her very warm personality and her professionalism to anyone who needs a gastroenterologist.

I sometimes get the feeling that I'm being rushed when I see Dr. Shakov, because she does not ask at the end of an appointment if I have any other questions. However, I definitely feel that she listens to me when I remember to bring up questions and concerns at the beginning of an appointment, so it's not that she doesn't care. The office is very fast-paced, which is the problem, but the flip side is that if you ever need a same-day appointment they will find a way to get you in. At my very first appointment, she asked if I wanted to come in the very next day for a colonoscopy! So it's a trade-off. While they do rush you a bit, it's because they want to make sure that all their patients are seen to as promptly as possible, and that's a trade-off that I'm willing to make. The office staff is very pleasant and I rarely wait more than ten minutes to see the doctor, even if they are squeezing me in. The only truly negative experience I've had with this office was when I called the… on-call doctor after a colonoscopy. I was told multiple times after my procedure that if I experienced a certain side effect I should call the doctor immediately, but when I did so the doctor I spoke with was rude, sarcastic, and dismissive of my concerns. I assume he is one of the other doctors at the practice. I don't know his name, but I hope I never have to have an appointment with him.
