Dr. Rafael Santiago Andrade, MD

I had an elective surgery (fundoplication takedown) with Dr. Andrade, who is quite personable, but now my stomach and other parts of my gastrointestinal system are permanently paralyzed (gastroparesis). My ribcage (xiphoid process) was also bent during surgery due to improper placement of surgical devices, which was very painful. I had expected a better outcome from the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at M Health, and didn't feel adequately informed of these risks.

Dr. Andrade was my primary surgeon for total gastrectomy and partial esophagectomy with roux-en-y as a result of esophageal/gastric cancer. He was very thorough with preparing me for surgery and my results following the surgery related to being able to eat and regain some normalcy after have been as good as expected. He has great bedside manner and his team was always on top of any problems or concerns I had, especially considering how invasive my particular surgery was, pain management after, etc.

Most unempathetic doctor I've ever met in my entire life. Diagnosed me with a rare traumatic injury. ( after no traumatic injury) Had no respect for me, my health or my time.

we had to wait a couple hours for the 1st visit no big deal, my waiting was small potatoes compared to what was occupping his time. He was called away for an emergency. I hope the long wait has no reflection of dissatisfaction.
