Dr. Rafael Gray, MD

I’m surprised at the older reviews for Dr. Gray. I’ve seen him several times this year and I’ve had the opposite experience. I’m impressed with how well he listens, asks questions, and makes relevant suggestions. He also frequently references research studies and supplements I could try if I want to. He always encourages me to send him a message if I have other questions. Very friendly and respectful provider.

He was assigned to me when I switched to Kaiser and had to transfer meds. He was the worst psychiatrist I've ever seen. I finally am able to access every mental health note on KP.org, and it was very eye opening. He never offered individual therapy, despite having a serious mental illness. He questioned a diagnosis, which did turn out to be a misdiagnosis, but he never bothered to mention to me that he was questioning that diagnosis when I saw him. I only found this out recently because I decided to read every mental health note in KP.org now that they have unblocked all the notes. Stay away!

The doctor never showed up for my video appointment and I haven't received a call from him or his staff.

Was his patient for several years. He is a smart guy, no question. But his communication skills are vestigial. He has the bedside manner of a toad. His arrogance keeps getting in the way. He does not understand the maxim: " Treat the patient not the diagnosis." What I see is a man who would rather do anything other than patient care.
