Dr. Raffi-Jean O Mesrobian, MD

Dr. Mesrobian performed surgery to remove a small growth under my tongue. Although he was a skilled surgeon, he then referred me to Dr. Rex Hoffman who along with Mesrobian insisted that I undergo 7 weeks of radiation. I got a second opinion from UCLA, where the doctors determined that based on the pathology results and surgery, no further treatment was needed. I recommend that all patients of Dr. Mesrobian consider getting a second opinion on treatment options.

I am a singer touring through the Los Angeles area. Lost my voice and had to cancel a few shows, wanted to see an EMT to make sure no permanent vocal damage was done. We were able to get an appointment the same day we called. We did have to wait in a non-glamourous waiting room, but I think that's normal for most doctors' offices. The staff was fine, and Dr. Mesrobian was wonderful. He was direct and to-the-point which I appreciated (and perhaps this could be mistaken for rudeness by some?). He did everything we needed and was even comforting. Finally, when the prescription proved to be expensive, he offered to give us some samples from his office.I feel fully satisfied by my visit and would recommend Dr. Mesrobian to anyone.

This doctor was rude and uncaring. I had a terrible visit with him and had to wait over 1 1/2 hours. He did not listen to me, would not address my concerns or answer my questions. He seemed not to care much and made me very uncomfortable. He assumed things about my condition that were not true and based his diagnosis on these falsehoods. I did not appreciate this. The he prescribed medication which made me sick.Overall a terrible experience and the office staff was not much better. All they were concerned about was getting the co-payment and making sure I had insurance and making sure they got their money prior to billing my insurance. The office was very crowded and seemed over-booked. There weren't enough chairs. AVOID
