Dr. Rafik Latif, MD

It’s taken me some time to write this review, but I feel it’s necessary to warn others. I ended up with this doctor because my insurance assigned him to me late in my pregnancy, and I had almost no other options. From day one, my experience with him was appalling, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. The wait times at his office were beyond unacceptable. Appointments were scheduled for specific times, but he would consistently show up hours late. EVERY SINGLE APPOINTMENT! For instance, I once had an appointment at 11 AM, and he didn’t even arrive at the office until after 2 PM no apologies, no explanation, and zero communication. Patients were simply left waiting with no regard for their time or well-being. The worst incident occurred during an emergency in my pregnancy. He insisted I go to Northridge Hospital, but due to the distance and my concern for my unborn child, I went to the nearest hospital instead. I assumed that if he wasn’t available to see me, another physician would exam… me and determine if my unborn child was safe. When he arrived, he stood there glaring at me before launching into a tirade. He yelled at me, berated me, and even threatened me. Even the nursing staff came in and apologized after that. His behavior wasn’t just unprofessional it was extremely abusive, disgraceful, and completely unacceptable. Dr. Rafik instilled this overwhelming fear in me, making me believe that no other doctor would take me or see me because I was already in my third trimester. He manipulated me into thinking that if he wasn’t my physician, my daughter’s life would be at risk because I would have no other physician to see. I was very niave. Out of fear and a sense of helplessness, I felt trapped and took his abuse, over and over again believing I had no other choice. He was rough during examinations, made vulgar and degrading comments during exams, and treated me with complete disregard. His actions were invasive and dehumanizing. I felt very unsafe under his care. When it came time to deliver my daughter, he thankfully didn’t show up. They simply said they were unable to reach him. So another physician delivered my baby, and I thank God every day for that. I am absolutely convinced that if Dr. Rafik had been involved with my daughters emergency c-section, my daughter might not be alive today. That’s how little trust I have in his competence or care. Every time I think about or share the story of my daughter’s birth, I get chills and feel on the verge of tears because of the horrific treatment I endured at the hands of this doctor. This man is a danger to his patients. He is unprofessional, neglectful, and outright abusive. I BEG anyone considering him as their doctor to run don’t walk away. He should not be practicing medicine, and the fact that he is still allowed to do so is a serious failure of the system. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

It's been a horrible nightmare. His staff is rude. He's absentminded. I'm scared I let him actually operate on me. I've had nothing but problems. I regret ever stepping into his office.

This doctor was by far the worst doctor I've ever seen. After the first visit, I will NEVER return. I was referred by my insurance to him and hand carried my large file from my doctor out of town, needing second biopsies and looking for more answers. I waited for over an hour, even though there was no one else in the office. The doctor read my file in the room with me send then said "Why are you here? You have a doctor already." He then conducted a three minute exam and asked me to get dressed...as he stood there and watched. I waited for him to leave but he did not. Completely uncomfortable! He said his secretary would call me to schedule procedures but they never did and THAT WAS OKAY WITH ME!! Don't waste your time with this doctor.

when it was my first time i waited 30 min but then on my regular appts it was 15-20 min. If the doctor had a delivery he always would tell us that he is going for a delivery and would be back in about one hour. He is a very friendly Doctor and takes the times for us i would like to recommend Dr Latif to deliver your baby His the best.

STAY AWAY! He doesn't care, his office staff is unprofessional and will talk down to you, he will not look at your test results until the moment you get there, and you will book an appointment weeks in advance for which he will spend less than 5 minutes - none of which he has prepared for by reviewing your file. Each visit with him will be like your first. This is my first pregnancy (I was seeing him for awhile before I got pregnant), and I am switching before it gets too late - his bedside manner, staff, and his level of caring are substandard - THERE ARE MUCH BETTER DOCTORS TO CHOOSE FROM!
