Dr. Rahel Claire Elias, MD

I made an appointment on the Patient Fusion online portal for 2 PM. I received a very prompt voice mail and asked to provide some personal details. Very pleasant receptionist, I might say. At the end of our phone call, she said they'll see me at 1:30 PM??? I double checked, and she said, yest 1:30, not 2 PM as I selected online. The Sunday morning before my Monday appointment, I received an email to confirm my appointment for 12:30 PM. I called the office to verify the time, and the receptionist first said i don't have an appointment, then she said my appointment is at 12:30, because they close at 1:40 PM. I should have listened to my gut instinct at this point... I finally arrive at my appointment at 12:15 PM, the receptionist hear the door opening, but did not acknowledged my presence ( as I new patient, I know I have tons of paper work to sign), as she was busy getting tutored (by what appeared to be another patient) on how to use the computer for some medical insurance/referrals.… I was completely disgusted by now by the filthiness and bad smell of the office. I felt like I was in a 3rd world country... ( I know it as I grew up in one, and left it- even there I've never seen such filth in a doctor's office) The old carpet looked like it was 40 yrs old, there was dust everywhere, distressed old furniture, and the place smelled like a barn. The walls were filthy and I was afraid to touch the door knob, as it was sticky and dirty. When the receptionist finally had time for me and handed me the paperwork, I asked her if Dr. Elias is the only doctor there, as there were already 3 patients ahead of me, and it was by now close to 12:30, time for my shifted appointment. As I anticipated either a long wait in that filthy environment, or a rushed visit, I left. Very unprofessional and filthy place. The Health department should condemn the place. As I left, there was a small hallway with hanging wires...I don't know or care at this point how good a doctor Dr. Elias is, but she should have the office at least cleaned. I got home and I scrubbed, and I am no where near a germophobe. It was that dirty of a place; I felt that if I stayed any longer, roaches will start crawling all over.

Dr. ELIAS is a great doctor. She spends a lot of time with me and my wife and explains everything well and has awesome bedside manner.

nicest primary care doc in queens. so caring and kind. she is a great troubleshooter. however its her sheer kindness and caring for every patient that really shows through. she answers her own phones ,performs the menial tasks herself.its not one of those offices where the assistant runs around and doc bops in and out of the room.
