Don't go. She has caused me great physical and emotional harm. Going to her has been a nightmare!

Dr. Tooma is the very best! I appreciate her natural approach and faith centered practice.

I appreciate Dr Tooma's time in explaining my health issues with me. She spent more time with me on my first visit than my five years combined with my previous GP. She cares for her patients and it shows. Reading other reviews I could see how the prayer at the end of session could be offensive if one doesn't have a faith. My suggestion to a patient is to respectfully state that, and to Dr. Tooma ... pray silently after the appointment for patients who don't want prayer.

I am absolutely amazed at doctor Toomas knowledge. I have been a patient at other offices for many years and they have never provided me such good advice. She is very knowledgeable about the details of many health conditions that most Americans suffer from such as high blood pressure and diabetes. She was able to explain things to me in layman's term and make a compelling case for implementing different lifestyle choices. I only wish that this information had provide been provided to me 20 years earlier. I think many of us who are on the journey to better health also have to be willing to commit to making some changes on our end. I don't want to just take a pill and expect that everything is going to be better. I want to address the underlying cause. She has really helped me with this period for that I highly recommend her.

She told me my seizures were a result of having a demon attached to me. She's negligent and doesn't seem to know basic information regarding prescriptions. She miswrote a test on lab work and when the lab called to find out what test she wanted instead of providing the proper lab code she just scratched out that test instead of getting the proper code so that lab work could be completed. I do not recommend her to anyone......

2 years and I am done with her. I don’t appreciate her pushing religious beliefs. But she still wants to pray for me each visit. Doesn’t remember from previous visit that I said “No thank you”. She is judgemental. Even if you are vegan, which I am, she will find something to harp on. Even if your cholesterol numbers show great improvement, she will lecture on the evils you are doing to your body. She doesn’t remember things you say and she does not appear to read your chart. She is a real master at cranking out a referral - but with barely assessing your condition. I find her very condescending.

I have an incurable auto-immune disease. Dr. Tooma insinuated it can be cured if I follow her prescription of vegetarianism, no alcohol, no coffee or any caffeine. She also referred to the medication I take for my chronic disease as "poison". This so called "poison" has controlled my disease and has increased the quality of my life dramatically. This "poison" has prevented me from being disabled and ending up in a wheelchair. What type of medical doctor practicing western medicine refers to medication that has helped me tremendously and has improved my quality of life as poison? I am also overweight and she assumed I am diabetic. I am not. I have regular blood work done for my disease and when she read my last lab results she was shocked I wasn't diabetic. She still wanted to test me for diabetes even though my recent blood work showed otherwise and I have no symptoms. She only based it on my weight. Dr. Tooma has a personal agenda and that is to convert you to abstaining from meat,… caffeine, alcohol (I have maybe one drink a week). Her examining room was filled with religious pamphlets, not health pamphlets. She prayed over me at the end of the visit. This practice needs to be up front about this being a religious practice and that this doctor has her own agenda, and your needs and beliefs do not factor into her agenda.

I needed to establish a PCP in the area and get my annual physical, which is covered 100% by my insurance. I stated at the time I made the appointment (on line) and on the paperwork at the office, that my visit was to do just that; establish care/annual physical. In the exam room, Dr. Tooma was very nice and it was relaxing to be thereâ?¦at first. She failed to look at any of my family history (or she would have discussed that) and instead, chose to zero in on my coffee and alcohol intake (which falls well below or within parameters set forth by the Mayo Clinic). I was told to not drink any caffeine (I have approximately 10 oz of coffee a dayâ?¦and some of that gets tossed into a plant at home) I drink (red) wine with dinner, but apparently thatâ??s a no-no, too. Iâ??m vegetarian/pescatarian, but she told me to stop eating fish. She went on about diet and exercise and ordered blood work and a return visit in two weeks. No physical was given. I assumed this visit was establishing care… and that the physical would come with the next visit. Oh, and she wanted to say a prayer before I left the room. I was taken aback, and couldnâ??t say I was uncomfortable with it. Fast forward, two weeks. A review of the lab work and again, admonished me for drinking wine. (Oh, and itâ??s listed as Alcohol and Caffeine Abuse on my medical profile) Second visit of being talked to as if I was a child. She brought up how I need to pray to God for help to change my lifestyle. In the conversation, the â??Right to Dieâ?? came up. When I mentioned it, her entire demeanor shifted. I could see the wheels of judgement turning. (â??Judge not, lest ye be judged) When I asked when I would get my physical, she said, â??Oh, is that why youâ??re here?â?? She then told me that I should have said that in the first visit. Really? It was stated in my paperwork. So now I need to go in for visit #3, to finally get my PAID FOR physical. I donâ??t believe in mixing religion with medicine, especially when it involves the professional pushing their personal agenda on the patient. I appreciate her insight and information, but I donâ??t go to a doctor to pray or discuss how God will help me to lose weight. Iâ??m not even sure Iâ??ll return for the physical.

I wish I could give Dr Tooma 10 stars for the time she spent with me. The staff is so kind and courteous, I have always hated going to the Dr but the staff and Dr Tooma try to make me as comfortable as possible. Dr Tooma shows she cares about the person not the clock. Very good people
