Dr. Rajiv Sood, MD

Arrogant, dismissive and completely botched my breast reconstruction surgery. I had to fly out of state to have over 5 surgeries to repair the damage. Never there on the weekends and leaves most care to residents. He was the worst. Do not go to him. You will regret it.

Great Surgeon, Great Staff, Nice Hospital

Sood came extremely highly recommended to me by several plastic surgeons and other healthcare professionals. Indeed, he is an elite group being 1 of 35 or so chiefs of plastic surgery in the nation. He specializes in successfully treating the scars of burn victims. Although I was not a burn victim, I had a contracted scar and degraded tissue from a brachioplasty that was very similar to a burn victim. In fact, my physical therapist told me that she had never seen a contracted scar as bad as mine and she had worked with burn patients. I felt very hopeful, after coming through months of depression and anxiety over the complication, when Sood told me he was 1 of only 3 plastic surgeons using IPL laser to treat scars, and that he had treated burn victims with scars much larger than mine. He seemed to really know his stuff and he seemed very nice; I did not understand why people said he lacked compassion. Sood said the surgery would probably be covered by my insurance as it was corrective… not cosmetic because I had lost the full range of motion in my arm owing to the contracted scar. He also was going to do a series of z-plastids and use Alloderm tissue matrix rather than do a skin graft, which was a relief to me. I awaited insurance approval and a surgery date. One day his nurse calls me and I am excited to hear good news. Instead she told me that Sood declined to do my surgery. I pleaded with her to have him reconsider. But I never received a callback. It is true, he lacks compassion just like the other reviews have stated. My insurance only covers his hospital so I am out of options. My arm remains seriously injured. I don't understand how a plastic surgeon (or any HCP) could refuse to help a patient. How can these people live with themselves? Where is the humanity?

I am grateful to Dr. Rajiv Sood, MD,FACS, Chief of Plastic Surgery. He performed a Plastic surgery miracle on me in January-2010. When I first went to him, his R.N. was so kind and compassionate to me about my condition. Dr. Sood was Wonderful, Kind and very caring to me. He gave me hope about my condition, and gave me a chance when other Doctor's would not accept my insurance or seem to give me a chance, or even care how sad and depressed I was about my condition. I had a large loose abdomen that was hideous, and painful and it needed to be surgically removed,...He accepted my insurance and gave me a chance to feel so much better. I Love Dr. Sood for what he did for me, I am forever grateful to him, and also his wonderful and caring staff---Susie was so kind, Gentle and courteous, and Chrystal was so wonderful, efficient and compassionate. I referred a friend to Dr. Sood, and he was so grateful and excited about being accepted and getting help for his condition.....After having a… complete abdominoplasty with wonderful results a few yrs ago, I will never, ever forget you Dr. Sood you are my wonderful amazing "Hero", May God Bless You.

I have just seen this doctor for the first time and it seems as if he lacks compassion. I would like to know if there is anybody else that can give me views on this doctor before I actually let him cut on me. My first vibe about him seems as if I don't like him. You know what they say "follow your first mind"! Then I look him up and he is treating people like trash. Not my kind of doctor!!!!!

I love Dr. Sood.... He is an excellent doctor. He spends lots of time with me and clearly explains everything. His staff also earns an A+ because they are so caring and friendly. Dr. Sood does beautiful work!

Dear Dr. Sood I am amazed everyday how much better I feel and I beleive you cannot separate the body mind and spirit so I not only feel better physically I also feel good mentally. Your staff treated me as if I were a family member always making sure I was taken care of always kind and professional I am thankful for the tummy-tuck! I am going to enjoy going to the mall with my sister Sharon Sue Williams to buy new smaller clothes and we are planing a trip to Marthas Vineyard.
