Dr. Rajkumar Govind Bhojraj, MD

I have been trying to find a new general practitioner when I received my new insurance. Unfortunately Dr. Bhojraj will not be it. It is very difficult to schedule an appointment because the phones are never on at the office. I am told that they only turn them on, for example, Thursday when the doctor is at his other location, between 3:30 and 5. But there is receptionist there. Why is the phone not on? What if I were truly sick and needed a check up for a prescription? Also, I have had several appointments with the doctor. On one occasion I came in and waited for 30 minutes only to be told the doctor "may or may not be coming in". Why was I not called before hand before leaving work to make an appointment I was on time for. This seems ridiculous. I understand emergencies or even a doctor getting sick and needing a day off but to not get a call before hand and to show up and wait and be told "you can wait if you like" is again ridiculous. Every time I have tried to make an appointment… he has nothing available for over a week. Again luckily I haven't been sick and only have gone for physicals and bloodwork reports. I also do not care for his solution to care. The first time I saw him after an initial blood test he wanted to put me on statins for cholesterol. Numbers were not really high. I took another test a month later and my numbers where back to normal and he left me on them. I take a third blood test and still normal levels or lower but now my liver is failing because of the meds but he doesn't want to take me off after our 4th visit. ANOTHER blood test done and before I can get a appointment I finally get a phone call from the office demanding me to stop the statins and to see an emergency room if I have signs of liver failure. After talking to other health professionals after this jarring moment I would have thought a better course of action would to inform me of my initial results and do another blood test after giving a chance to correct eating and exercise habits on my own. I am a young 33 years old and a bit overweight but I am certainly not past the point I can not do things individually before a prescription to make things worse.

I have been with Dr. B for 25 years and when I had my daughter she has seen him all her life and now a adult and still see him.

I have been with Dr. B for over 21 years now along with my son. Not only is good doctor but his office staff is Irreplaceable. I have been pleased with their services for a long time. He is a doctor that listens, that cares and spends the necessary time with you that's needed to address your immediate needs. Fran who works in the Laurel office and Regina that works in the Bladensburg office are the best.
