Dr. Rama Sanyasi Prayaga, MD

Dr. Prayaga is extremely helpful and empathetic. He really helped me through some difficult times.

The New Stress Clinic now offers Ketamine Therapy for Depression and Anxiety. Ketamine therapy is a new and innovative treatment modality for patients who have experienced Treatment Resistant Medication Management for Depression and Anxiety. It is a new treatment modality, but extremely effective and safe. Patients can literally get relief after the first 1 hour of treatment. Dr. Prayaga is always searching for practical and effective treatment for behavioral health diagnoses that he finds himself treating patients for. His practice is available for almost anyone, in that he accepts almost all insurance and third party payment sources.

Dr. Prayaga is very empathetic and extremely patient and gives excellent advice. I appreciated his help. I highly recommend Dr. Prayaga!

Has cleverly determined how to maximize his reimbursement by private insurers and federal health programs by pushing TMS (a more highly reimbursable procedure) onto his patients. He spent about 3 minutes with me during our office visit. His strategy is probably legal and it's no doubt working to pad his own pockets, but it's certainly not ethical.

Setting up my first appointment was a breeze, and he and his office staff made sure I got in quickly, as I had an expiring prescription. The appointment was fantastic. Dr. Prayaga listened to me and my past psychiatric history. Excited to have found someone who tells me the risks and benefits of courses of action/medications, and accommodates a busy life with flexible scheduling. Thankful!

I'm not sure why there is all this dissatisfaction with Dr. Prayaga. He has been nothing but a boon to my life. He is very kind and his flexible weekend hours and telemedicine makes it very convenient for my schedule. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Prayaga is a patient and helpful physician. I have been seeing him for 2 years and have no complaints about his level of care and about his attentiveness to my needs.

Two words: PILL PUSHER. He is a bonafide drug dealer. All the doctor cares about is getting money. Will spend maybe 2 minutes, 3 tops with you before quickly rushing you off with a cocktail of new medications. ADHD meds are his secret recipe/specialty. Does not track progress or check vitals or anything to monitor how these meds are impacting your health. Does not ask any questions at all. Just looks at the piece of paper handed to him by his receptionist stating what your meds are so he can copy and write them on the script. It’s pretty unreal that he is still in practice after how insanely unethical his practices are.

If you can afford to pay out-of-network you'd be better off doing that. This doctor will not write 3 month prescriptions because he wants to collect the copay for monthly office visits. Horrible experience, but the only doctor in the DC area that accepts Empire BC.
