Dr. Ramin M Abdolvahabi, MD

Stay away. He promised he'd take care of my severely herniated disc with surgery. He explained almost nothing about the procedure pre-surgery, explained the risks at super speed in almost a whisper, I felt like the practice was a factory, then he didn't take care of the problem. Ended up with more pain. Saw 2 different specialists afterward for 2nd and 3rd opinions (in a different practice), both diagnosis was that he didn't fix the problem and instead created more. They had to do specialized scans that he never did to show why the fix didn't happen. Now instead of the fix being the original outpatient surgery, I'm scheduled for a more complicated in-patient surgery with a 4-5 day hospital stay, and more risk due to the prior surgery. Instead of acknowledging what he did/didn't do, he said I must have caused the problem (in 2 wks of inactivity? right). If you use him, good luck.

The lowest dose of Norco was prescribed (9 pills). I called the office to get something else since Norco does not work on me and they did not call back. It feels like my back got worked over with a baseball bat. Also, the doctor didn't even bother to tell me how things went in recovery.

Made the experience as good as possible

Dr. Abdulvahabi is the most caring physician I have known. Not only is he a talented back surgeon, but he goes beyond his expertise to help with other issues, such as pain management. He only recommends surgery when absolutely necessary. I trust him with my life

Upon getting tossed back & forth by Ellie, Joe and other office staff I still sit in pain as I write. Dr A. Is a terrific guy and highly qualified BUT..... had surgery back in 09, problems now reappeared. No appt without MRI through primary. Primary says specialists must order MRI. 5 days later, no results, no change. I will move on now. If this staff worked for me, they’d be fired.I will discuss with my peers at JFK this experience and hopefully it can be corrected.

I work for an orthopedic spine surgeon who I initially saw for my problem. Back pain radiating down my right leg. The pain was unbearable. I honestly feel that Dr. Abdolvhabi saved my LIFE. I don't really know if I could have tolerated the pain much longer. I had a great experience here, from his office staff, Dr. A, the hospital I had my surgery at, all the nurses, his P.A- i could not have asked for better. If ever needed again, I don't think I would go anyplace else.

He is sarcastic and comes across as uncaring. "Wait and see" seems to be his prefered approch. I cant tell if he did anything wrong but none of his attemps have helped

I was told I would possibly lose some motion in my neck but I lost nothing but gained more.

Dr Abdolvahabi couldn't have attended to my issue any faster than he did. He did a peer to peer with my insurance provider to get the surgery approved and performed the operation 3 business days after my initial visit. I was in serious pain and since the surgery, I haven't had any pain whatsoever. My follow up visits were very informative and Dr. A took the time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. Thanks Dr. A.

Dr Abdolvahabi is the best of the best- he has performed three spinal surgeries on me and the level of care is second to none- he is conservative when possible yet aggressive when necessary- I would recommend anyone I know to see him
