Dr. Ramon Eloy Rivera, MD

I was a patient of Dr Rivera approximately eight years ago. There was a lot of hurdles in following up with him due to changing of office locations and so forth. It got to a point where I just became extremely frustrated without being able to reach his office and establish an appointment. Years have gone by and my pancreas divisionism illness has become a major health problem. My primary physician referred me to Dr. Corsanti. Unknown to me Dr Rivera is associated somehow very closely with Dr. Corsanti. Dr. Corsanti could not have been more helpful and concerned as was his PA. They scheduled testing for me which was critical at the time because my symptoms were causing major problems. When I went to try to schedule the EUS they prescribed for me I was told that Dr Rivera would be doing the procedure. I believed that that was an excellent choice because Dr Rivera was the only Dr that had Examined my pancreas threw an EUS originally and diagnosed me. For whatever reason Dr Rivera… refused to do the EUS for me. I followed up and asked his office why this was happening. I did not receive any solid information other than that Dr Rivera chose not to Allow me to be his patient anymore. Finally after being persistent one of his secretaries said that she would try to help and talk to him directly. She returned a call to me and told me that I was scheduled to see him on a specific date. The Day of the appointment in the morning I received a phone call from his office saying that he personally canceled the appointment and does not want me in his office. I do not understand this behavior at all. I always spoke very highly a Dr Rivera although there were a couple hurdles with getting appointments and him not having notes from our last meeting and we basically had to start over each time I saw him. At one appointment his office help in a friendly way joked to me about it saying that was just one of his downfalls but he was a great doctor and I agreed. I had to get the EUS done by a physician at Roswell that I did not meet until I was laying in the hospital bed being prepared for the procedure. It was sought at that time from a previous MCRP procedure that I had some sort of tumor in my pancreas duct. It was very urgent that I had this EUS done. I believed it was critical that Dr Rivera would do it because he knew and was the only doctor what my pancreas looked like from day one. His refusal to do it put me in a very difficult spot which I felt has brought a considerable amount of unwarranted harm to my medical situation. I just don't know what this doctors problem is with me personally, but it appears that there is A large problem. I thought doctors took an oath that required them to provide service to people regardless whether they liked the person personally or not? I believe his refusal to see me as a patient has no doubt taken years off my life and put me in a position that is going to shorten my life considerably. Again I just don't understand this doctors behavior. I'm not certain whether taking legal action is the right thing to do but his behavior is a mystery to me and it would be nice if someone cleared this up. This doctor was so great after two years of seeing doctors and being sick no one could find out what was wrong with me Doctor Rivera finally found out not only is he great but his secretary Denise is very wonderful and caring to I would recommend this doctor to anyone !!!

Been seeing dr. Rivera for over a year. Never returns calls, Office staff is not helpful

Had high hopes after initial visit but following up has proved difficult. Office staff is extremely rude. I understand he's an expert in his field and has showed me things other drs either ignored to tell me or did not see. I'm glad I got to see him based on that but I just wish the relationship with his patients was better.

DR. RIVERA WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY MY DOCTOR. I WAS VERY SCEPTICAL ABOUT GOING OVER 100 MILES TO SEE A DOCTOR I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE RIDE. DR. RIVERA WAS SO DETAILED IN EXPLAINING TO MY FAMILY MY PROBLEMS. I FEEL 100% MUCH BETTER. I HAVE A FOLLOW UP SOON AND I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT SEEING HIM AGAIN. I FEEL LIKE I AM IN EXCELLENT HANDS WITH THIS DR. RIVERA.

Dr. Rivera was highly recommended for his expertise in dealing with the pancreas. I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis in January. As Dr. Rivera was highly recommended I went for an office visit. My husband and I felt very confident in him as he took his time explaining different possibilities. He performed an ERCP and found a blockage in which he inserted a stent. He was very courteous and informative in explaining the procedure. Thank God I am feeling so much better and would highly recommend Dr. Rivera. He was a true blessing to me. His staff is very courteous as well. I can`t thank him enough for making me well.

Dr. Rivera is a wonderful doctor. During my hospital stay I was sent to N.O. from B.R. to see him. He is an expert in his field and I would not trust anyone else to work with my pancreas. I am truly thankful to him, and cannot ask for a better doctor!
