Dr. Ramona Janet Zak, MD

It took me 45 + years to finally find a doctor I am extremely comfortable with. She listens, She cares, She is helpful & She tells ya like it is. I would recommend Dr. Zak to everyone (my niece now goes to her). The staff is pleasant and always answers questions. Never a bad experience with the staff nor Dr. Zak!

First, I’d like to point out that the 4 people on these thread that gave her 5 stars must be her friends, relatives or maybe she did it. The only thing this doctor does is...blood test, give RX. Her nurses have more contact with the patients than she does. She has a teenage tantrum, and will not listen to patient, which kinda give away the fact that she’s not a good doctor. It’s obvious when she does not know, she tries to spin things around to the point that she wasn’t making any sense, and worse trying to blame it on the patient. Worst doctor I’ve seen!

Horrible staff ! Not cooperative at all and the clinic is closed 3 days a week ! Near to impossible to get an appointment in 2 weeks frame so you've to book an appointment when you're healthy in order to have them see you when you become sick ! Insane !

I will start with the staff. They are rude. Whenever I am sick and try to make an appointment I am always told that there is 2-3 week wait. They do not care if your sick I was once told "well if you're that sick then go to the ER." The last time I remember I do not pay health insurance for the opinion of a receptionist. A few years ago I injured me knee, and of course it was impossible to get in to see Dr. Zak. I ended up needing surgery. There had been a time where Dr. Zak would prescribe me medicine and it was discontinued. The pharmacy and I left messages for Dr Zak to change the script and the nurse said that "she has a stack of messages she will get to it when she gets to it." I had tried for a week to get the script changed. I never got the medication. I am currently sick, and I had called to see if maybe I was calling on a good day and I could be seen. Well let me tell you I was wrong. When I called to make an appointment I was told that Dr Zak is not accepting any new… patients. I have been going to this awful office since I was 18 years old. They told me that there is no medical records of me seeing Dr. Zak. So what I am asking now is where are my medical records???? I never want to see this Dr. I rather dig my own grave.

KDr. Ramona Zak is an amazing doctor. After years of pain and other doctors telling me all the wrong things with no tests done I luckily found Dr. Ramona Zak who actually listened me and ordered tests. Because of this wonderful doctor I finally know what is going on with me. Dr. Zak is a great doctor that will do the proper testing before diagnosing you. She truly is a brilliant doctor.

I love Dr. Zak and her staff. They all have a good sense of humor and are very nice to my daughter, grand-daughter and myself. She really takes good care of us all.

Dr Zak and her staff are always polite and courteous. Actually, I find Dr Zak rather funny and she has a good sense of humor. she spends a good amount of time answering my questions and asking about my mother who is also one of her patients. I don't know what these other patients are talking about, shes a great Doctor and the rest of the staff are always so nice! She has never sent me for unnecessary tests or anything like that....and ive been going there a few years now. Very good Doctor

I've been seeing Dr Zak since she established her practice in Norridge and even though I have moved 30 Minutes Away I Still Have Kept Her As My Doctor. She is amazing. And so is her staff.

I usually don't write reviews but I think that it's important for people know that there are better doctors out there than this one. I especially was upset about how she treats her patients because I work as a medical assistant and I've never seen the doctors I work for be this rude to patients! Me and my mother both go to this doctor and we are both displeased. My mother has been seeing this Dr. Zak for about a year while I've had two visits there in the past few months. She kept sending my mom for tests and telling her something was wrong with her - every time something different! They would never call with test results I was always calling them the following week to ask about them and I would get a response a few days later. Each lab and test would come back normal and that's all they would tell me over the phone and then have my mom come in for another appointment and the doctor would come up with some other completely unrelated thing that was wrong with her. The worst part is when… my mom would show up to appointment Dr. Zak greeted her with "what do you want again" .. No joke those were literally her words RUDE! You tell your patient to make an appointment to come see you and that's what you say?? I understand that you don't remember what's going on with all of your patients but you can always come into the room say hello like a normal person and take a look at her chart and see why she's here! As for the care I received from this doctor she told me that I'm making a big deal out of things that aren't and then told me I had a thyroid problem (coincidence because she told many other women that I know went to see her the same thing?) and she took blood tests which they never got back to me with results until two weeks later when I called them! They told me that they were normal and offered no other explanation to the symptoms I was having. I went back there when I had bronchitis and she put me on antibiotics and when I called back saying that I get nausea and lightheadness after taking them she told me "don't worry about it" haha what a joke.

Worst doctor ever!! Misdiagnosed me a 28 year old with arthritis of the back which later was only a slipped disk and kept telling me my pain will NEVER GO AWAY do to arthritis that i have! Very unprofessional and does not care to even see you! All this said over a phone call!!!
