Dr. Ranae Lynn Yockey, DO

I do not know what is happening with this doctor and her office, but it is a complete mess. I have been a patient of hers for 10 years. She used to be amazing and on top of her game. Now, she is belligerent, rude, and makes so many mistakes. Her two staff members are incompetent and always leave me in tears because they do not want to help you. I have been given incorrect meds. She's ordered the wrong labs. And, they never pick up the phone. It's ridiculous. I feel so devalued as a patient. And, what actually happened to her whole office staff? They are all working in another office now. I can't be a patient here anymore. It's affecting my health.

Once Great, Now Unreliable and Disorganized I am deeply disappointed with the service at this gynecological practice. What used to be a great practice has sadly lost its way. Despite scheduling appointments with the gynecologist, I have never actually seen her; each visit was handled by the midwife instead. To make matters worse, the results of ultrasounds are communicated by a nurse after a lengthy delay—sometimes as long as two months! The practice has also moved locations several times, which has added to the confusion and frustration. This constant shifting has not only made it difficult to keep track of appointments, but it also seems to reflect a broader decline in the quality of care. The personal touch and patient-centered care that once defined this practice have vanished. It’s unfortunate to see what this practice has become, and I hope they find a way to regain the trust and quality that they once had.

Dr Yockey has been my Gyne for over 15 years. Her office staff does not know what they are doing. Very chaotic there. Very long wait times.

There were some great things about this practice: new techniques, for example. But the staff and office is chaotic. Things fall through the cracks. Serious things.

I've been a patient of Dr. Yockey for about five years. Dr. Yockey is very knowledgeable and is medically a great doctor. Her bedside manner is terrible, though. She is extremely moody. When I first started seeing her, she was a very nice and caring doctor. As time went on, she became very moody. She frequently says things that are very rude and unprofessional. She can also be very sarcastic in a condescending way. I would definitely continue going to her if she had the bedside manner that she did when I first started coming, but I can't keep subjecting myself to the way she often treats me. The office staff also leaves something to be desired. There are some nurses/receptionists who are very friendly and positive. There are others who are rude and not at all knowledgeable. Appointment scheduling gets messed up and there are long waits to see Dr. Yockey, even when there is an urgent problem. It is a shame that this office can't run better and that Dr. Yockey seems to… have forgotten her bedside manner. The practice has a lot of potential, but also a lot of problems.

Her nurse tried to prescribe me inappropriate medications three separate times. Once she wanted to give me cipro while I was pregnant. Then postpartum, tried again to prescribe cipro (I was nursing), then amocicillian despite my known allergies and then again tried to prescribe a medicine not ok for use while nursing a newborn. Aside from these mistakes, she utterly forgot about me at discharge and left use hanging for 8 hours before she phoned in a discharge order. She then tried to place blame on her P.A. who I knew to be out of town. Her billing office tried to charge me a copay for an office visit that didn't happen -- I left labs and didn't see a soul besides the receptionist. And then after the prescription mishaps, I switched to a new office. Lo and behold, they tried to charge my credit card without authorization for my records to be faxed to the new doctor. Unbelievable. It's all unfortunate because I had a great experience with my older child, but she's lost… control of her office and I won't be back.

I have been a patient for 6 years. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I called to set up D&C and was told by the nurse that doctor was on vacation and they don't take my insurance anymore. I was crying on phone as I did not know what to do. I was called next day by nurse practitioner who was excited as she got my labs to confirm pregnancy. I told her that I called day before and was told I could not be seen there. She was appalled that someone would talk to me like that. Rule for any doctor office is patients come first not insurance. I was also told that 2 doctors were on call and that this nurse did not tell anyone I called. I could have been bleeding out and no one would have known. I am also a nurse and never have experienced something like this. Most of the staff is great, Dr Yockey is nice but does not spend a lot of time with you. I could not recover from this experience to go back. You trust that everyone should treat people with respect and kindness. The last thing I needed… after learning that I couldn't be a mom, is that I also don't have a doctor.

Dr. Yockey traveled last minute to St. Alexius Medical center to do an emergency c-section at 27 weeks for me last fall. She saved my baby's life. She got a plan in place for me two weeks before, with a round of steroids, just in time for the unexpected early birth of my 1lb 4oz. baby. She saved her life. My baby came out crying. No brain bleed either. She left the NICU after four months, but nurses said she called often to check up on my baby. She is caring and professional. She was always there for me when I needed her for the birth of my son, and then for the early and traumatic birth of my daughter. She is an excellent doctor under pressure.

Dr. Yockey needs to keep her politics off of my telephone. Stop with the campaign calling.

I would rather wait 20 minutes in a doctor's office to receive the best patient care than to walk into an empty waiting room and see a less than par doctor. Yockey is the best of the best.
