Dr. Randall Mark Taubman, MD

Repeated attempts to reach him ..... “unavailable “ after being a patient for several years. Office staff not helpful!!!!!!

I saw this doctor once. The first time, they called me after almost 3 weeks after my appt to let me know they had concerns with my exam results. I went the second time for blood work, they never called back. I asked for the results to be mailed to another doctor. Terrible office and terrible experience.

I visited Dr(?) Taubman as a follow up for high blood pressure after being in the hospital. I was in the hospital for a cervical injury and while i was there i learned i had high blood pressure. I only needed a doctor to monitor and adjust the blood pressure medication i was now taking as i am receiving other treatment from specialists for the injury. When i first met this man, he began asking me a a long list of personal questions, none of which pertained to my health in any way. Even though they seemed strange and unnecessary, i gladly answered every question. After making insults to me regarding my career and my level of pay, he then made a comment about me having a learning disability. I said "I don't have a learning disability". He then said it again 2 more times. I explained i did excellent in school and that i have excelled at every job I have ever had. He said "so no learning disability, then? I guess it is his prerogative to respect people based on their salary, however i am… still not sure what any of that has to do with high blood pressure. He then told me, without looking at my cat scan, that everything they did in the hospital was wrong and that the doctors there don't know what they are doing. The cat scan shows my cervical neck injury which pinches the nerve that goes down my shoulder through my arm. He said "I don't need to see the cat scan report. I already know there's nothing wrong with your neck. The neck is not connect to the shoulder. If you have pain in your shoulder, then its a shoulder injury". Even children know, from the children's song Dem Bones, that the "Shoulder bone is connected to the neck bone". He insisted that i needed shoulder x-rays and wrote me a prescription for physical therapy for my shoulder. I followed through and, needless to say, the x-rays showed the shoulder was perfectly normal. He also told me to stop taking the steroids, muscle relaxer, and anti inflammatory medications i was prescribed by the doctor in the hospital. Of course after this experience, i spoke to the specialists treating my injury and they were shocked. They couldn't believe that a real doctor would completely disregard a cat scan and advise a patient to do the opposite of what is crucial to their recovery. I suspect that, for his own personal reason, he just didn't like me, and therefore purposely gave me poor medical advice. I guess repeatedly insulting me wasn't enough. It is either that or he seriously has no idea what he's doing as a medical doctor. For your own health, i hope that you get to read this before you make an appointment to see Dr(?) Taubman.

Cheerful, made eye contact and seemed genuinely interested in me and my case history. Listened carefully and made professional and accurate decisions. I enjoyed him a lot and now I trust him completely.

He once actually answered the phone when I was calling to leave a message after hours to make an appoinment. He simply said, "It's Dr. Taubman" I was surprised beyond belief and explined my pjysical dilema, and upon hearing he said, "Just come in in the morning, and let me have a look at you".

First I'd like to say the front office staff is wonderful. The two women that run the front desk are extremely nice and helpful. The reason for the low score on ease of getting an appointment is soley for getting a referral. The woman who does all the referral appointments has a nasty demeanor and is rude. You can wait over a week and a half for her to get you your referral. No sense of urgency at all. The low scores for Dr. Taubman is deserved. I wouldn't let him treat my dogs. He misdiagnosed a family member and kept her on high doasage pain pills instead of doing more tests. She ended up having a life threatening condition and quickly had to have major surgery. I would not recommend Dr. Taubman especially if you are elderly. His lack of compassion, ineffectiveness and apathy are enough reasons to find another Doctor.
