Dr. Randy Owen Kritzer, MD

Although I was not the patient, I witnessed what other doctors said impossible for years so MUST thank Dr. Kritzer, now hoping he can do the same for me 14 years later. He won’t remember me and I’m disabled with Osteoarthritis since 2004, but also have a torn disc now. Dr. Kritzer did 2 surgeries on my ex husband after 3 failed surgeries from others. The man was soon able to ride a Harley! We had irreconcilable differences, I moved out and have lived here alone several years in a town away from Dr. Kritzer unfortunately. I’ve had Subclavian Steal Syndrome, has bypass to restore blood flow to my brain and eyes last winter at UNC, regaining the use of my left hand and arm and possibly have PD complicating my mobility further. I trust Dr. Kritzer above all, but don’t trust myself to drive to him, creating another issue for me. I feel CERTAIN that he could restore my quality of life, if he even accepts my UHC Medicare and I could get to him. But I worked very hard since my teens at… physical labor, so have Medicare instead of Medicaid, so no CNA or transportation help. Living on Family Dollar food bc it’s easier to park close, get a cart and supplies, and the ladies there help me load. They also have a chair I can sit in half way through to keep from falling. I can’t get fresh fruit there but enough food to survive on, as I’m surviving instead of living now. I’m SURE that Dr. Kritzer could help me. Anyone reading this, please pray I survive this winter. I don’t want my only child, a 43 year old son, to experience losing a parent yet. My PA does eight mild pain pills and a muscle relaxer, but I don’t want strong narcotics as the Subclavian Steal Syndrome has already broken my mind enough. It went undiagnosed from 2012-2017 when I changed insurance to not require referrals. Throughout that time, there was a constant heartbeat in my ears, left arm pain, dropped everything from that hand, and no BP in that arm. Solution? Check BP in right arm and send me to Orthopedic for shoulder I hadn’t injured. Diagnosed tinnitus in my ears against my objections, telling them they weren’t ringing and quiet until I moved my head upon waking, then heard every heart beat, speeding up with activity, etc. once insurance changed, my first ENT put a stethoscope to my neck and heard it saying, you’re right, that’s your pulse you hear. You may need emergency surgery but we must get a CTA to confirm. This is long to help anyone else who may find themselves in this situation. I’ve had many praying as it felt I was losing my mind, and did some, as my left eye kept going blind at times too. My left carotid was 100% blocked, but my left arm was supplying a reverse blood flow. I now have a tube from my chest to my Subclavian Artery thanks to Dr. Pascarella at UNC. My vision is still poor and left arm weak but BP and use back. After much praying, I believe that Dr. Kritzer can help me be able to walk well enough to grocery shop and clean my house again (better than I am now) and ease my breath taking pain. He’s the best surgeon in his field. I’ve seen what he can do. My comprehension is a bit broken and I can’t figure out how to make this happen, so prayers please. For Dr. Kritzer too, bc he helps so many people. I may not survive this winter but I’m useless as I am anyway. He is a very valuable person. I’d trust him with my life. Please pardon typos due to vision. Thank you.

Dr. Kritzer is a gifted surgeon with a dedicated staff. The care is professional and the follow up complete. I would recommend him for anyone having the need for back surgery.

Surgery went very well. Recovery went great. Doctor very professional and knowledgeable. Cannot say enough good things as my nerve pain is all gone.
