Dr. Randy Lee Rogers, MD

I started going to Dr. Rogers 20 years ago. He used to be fine. Now he's a tired, old, burned out shell. He's abrupt, doesn't listen, is rude. Recently, I was out-of-state and needed a prescription refilled. He refused to do so.

Sometimes I feel as though I'm just another person Sometimes Dr. Rogers and those at the front desk aren't very personable. Dr. Rogers has been great in the past but right now I'd say he is just good because he seems to show lack of interest now. I dont know if he is stressed and trying to not get behind on appointments but something seems different now.

Dr. Rogers is clearly very educated, but didn't really seem to listen to me at all--generally he seemed to form his own conclusions and discount any information I gave him. At the end of the visit, I didn't feel my medical issue was resolved and felt more like he was just shooing me out so he could move on to the next patient. Perhaps that explains why he was so punctual: because he's more focused on moving people through the assembly line than actually listening to them. Not recommended.

At my first appointment with Dr Rogers, I wasn't really sure if he was the right doctor for me. My second appointment convinced me otherwise. I find him to be patient and thorough. He takes the time necessary to listen to me and discuess my conserns. I am very impressed with his bedside manner. It is easy to read his face. I can see compassion, consern, confussion, doubt and more in his facial expressions. He explains things thoroughly and always asks if I have any questions. I trust him and his abilities. I wouldn't have any other Primary Care doctor.

Dr. Rogers kept directing discussion about my issues to a discussion about my diabetes which I feel is secondary to my ability to treat my chronic illnesses that I have had before I got diabetes. I have type 2 and it's not out of control. My treatment plan is for me to decide and for him to assist with. I have lived with the medical issues I have for nearly my whole life and have a more than adequate understanding of my own medical history and best treatments for my chronic illnesses. He is a doctor and needs to put his patients concerns first unless an emergency intervention is warranted. He went on and on about my diabetes and gave my issues lip service and prescriptions. I had no perception that as a new patient he gave a crap about me and he also made negative comments about my ability to pay for brand name prescriptions when I requested generics since I am on a fixed income. Overall the clinic was great and he was short with me with a terrible bedside manner. I am scoring him poor… on diagnostics because he completely missed that he was being inconsiderate and overruling my concerns and needs. He is not HOUSE. I have family that see him and they dislike him as much or more than I do for these very reasons. Obviously these behaviors are not "one offs" because he is having a bad day.

Dr. Rogers is fabulous! He is super friendly, and has a great bed side manner. I don't think I have ever heard of a doctor as funny and caring as Dr. Rogers. I have grown up with Randy Rogers being my doctor, and he is now the doctor of my children. He has made several horrible experiences into wonderful comical memories. As an example I asked for something to bite down on as a teenage boy when I was receiving stitches on my chin, and Dr. Rogers handed me a box with a bullet inside which read "Bite the bullet". I could go on and on, but I will just say that Dr. Randy Rogers is an asset to Inter-mountain Health-care, and the families of the state of Utah.
