Dr. Ranjan Sharma, MD

I am not in the business of publicly denouncing someone but since there is an option to write public review, I figured I exercise my freedom of speech. Dr. Ranjan Sharma is the MOST despicable person I have EVER met!!!!! As a patient, he has treated me horribly and since Dr. LeBauer retired, he thinks he is God’s gift. Guess what Dr. Sharma, you are not!!!!! He is a mean person and I cannot believe he is so unkind to his patients.

Dr. Sharma has helped me so much with my allergies.

I've been seeing Dr. Sharma for the past few years for my allergies. I have always been so pleased with his care. He is personable, warm, friendly, and so helpful. Dr. Sharma and his staff have always treated me kindly. Dr. Sharma was able to determine why I had had so many problems with my allergy symptoms. Since being under his treatment, I have had little to no problem gaining and maintaining control of my allergy symptoms.

Dr Sharma is the rudest person that I have ever dealt with. He took personal offense when I showed concern at the cost of the procedures that he suggested & got very aggressive. I've never had a person treat me with such disrespect in a professional atmosphere. It caught me completely off guard & I couldn't convince him to relax. If I could go back, I would handle it completely differently. Do NOT go to this Dr under any circumstances.

I had gone to Dr. Sharma to seek relief from frequent sinus pressure and infections. I had been led to believe but other physicians that they could be related to my allergies. After the standard panel of allergy tests, a CT scan was ordered and Dr. Sharma concluded there was nothing wrong structurally that would be causing my sinus problems. He put me on five different allergy medications and told me that hopefully something will work although my quality of life wouldn't go back to what it was when I was younger. The allergy drugs didn't stop the sinus infections or even slow them. Sharma just kept giving me antibiotics and was ruder every time I returned. I also started getting allergy shots which helped my seasonal allergies but also did little to stop the constant sinus infections. A few years and many sinus infections later, I moved and started seeing both a new allergist and an ENT. The ENT did another CT on my sinuses and found serious structural problems that… were causing my problems. Basically, one of my passages was nearly blocked due to a severely deviated septum and other issues. I had surgery and voila! -- No more frequent sinus infections. That was years ago and I wish I had seen someone other than Sharma initially because it would saved me from years of sinus issues. He's not only rude but borderline incompetent. He just throws a bunch of prescriptions at you and hopes something works.

I agree with the review from June. I am trying to switch physicians within this practice. Also trying to see VanWinkle and I am told that the doctors have to make this decision. REALLY? I thought that was my decision as a consumer. That's like Target telling you you can only buy Coke because it's all you've ever purchased there. It's a shame such a nice, smart physician such as VanWinkle joined this money hungry practice. He used to be part of my peds office and is fantastic. One of the first things recommended is a full allergy panel workup, which by the was, was very in accurate. Waste of time and $. Spend your money with someone who cares.

Dr. Sharma himself was very unprofessional. He has a very combative style when approaching patients. He did not familiarize himself with my chart before entering the room on any visit. He does not listen & makes gross assumptions. I told him the medicines I was on & he refused to believe me until finally he checked the chart, like he thought I was lying. He shows no understanding of the costs of the procedures & drugs that he recommends. Acted like I was fighting with him when I told him I couldn't afford all the things he was recommending instead of trying to help me figure something else out.

Dr. Sharma, Is a capable enough Doctor, we have seen him for six years however if you need to see another doctor in his office and he will not let you. You must get doctor approval to see another one of his partners and this does not come easy. I have switched to his partner Chris Van Winkle and I do like him much more, however you may just want to go to another practice to avoid this dictatorship.

I went to this doctor to be tested for something specific and he wanted to do a full protocol that would have cost over $1000 and would have tested me for things I am not having a problem with. I refused and he still billed me for doing nothing but called it a consultation. What a waste of time!
