Dr. Rashmi Maganti, MD

What ever happens DO NOT go see Dr. Rashmi Maganti in Rheumatology. She will prescribe you medication that you DO NOT NEED. I’ve been in remission without meds for 8 yrs from Amyophatic Dermatomyositis but I still have to monitor by bloodwork and unfortunately I couldn’t continue to see my specialist so I went to see Dr. Rashmi Maganti. Just because my face was a little red, which it was in the middle of summer and my elbow was a little red which I told her it was a mosquito bite. Dr Maganti started me on the meds, I wanted to wait for my lab results but her answer was “I wanted to start taking it just in case” I asked about side effects and she said don’t worry. Well 3 weeks later I developed PSORIASIS. I checked online for the medication Side Effects and yes PSORIASIS was in the list. Went to dermatologist and it was confirmed. I changed to another Rheumatologist and confirmed again told me it was good that I stopped taking the medication and he couldn’t Rationale why Dr Maganti… prescribed the medication. My new Rheumatologist told that sometimes the psoriasis flare goes away once the medication is out of the patient’s system but it could flare again. The worst is Baylor stated Dr Maganti did nothing wrong. I struggled with Psoriasis for months. Oh and by the way I’m still in Remission without meds. I love my new Dr.

Dr Maganti is an excellent doctor. She takes the time and tries her best to help. If you send a message she gets back to you very quickly. I drive over an hour to go see her because she is worth it.

My previous rheumatologist moved out of state and I was stuck seeing this one. The absolute worse dr ever . She refused to review my former doctors notes and continue treatment as such . She told me I had fibromyalgia pain when my previous rheumatologist said it’s seronegative Arthritis and placed me on methotrexate which worked great until my body became resistant to it and back to square 1

Oh you are suffering? She won't care... She won't write a prescription. She tells you to see another specialty... BUT will not give you a referral. Insists you take a medication the last rheumatologist at the same clinic said, do NOT take it... and it didn't work in the past anyways... BAD BAD BAD doctor. Baylor Sjogren's Clinic really messed up with this one.

I have been a patient of Dr. Maganti for about 2 years. I had to beg for an explanation of my diagnosis and I was handed a pamphlet. When I start to talk it seems she has already made her mind up so doesn't listen. Why ask a patient questions if you don't want an answer? It takes minimum 2 calls to get questions answered. The medical staff acts like you are a bother. Over all the 8 minutes you see the Dr is rushed and impersonal.

I am very please and grateful for the excellent and professional care that I recieve from Dr. Maganti. She and the office staff are great.

She is an excellent doctor. She takes the time to listen and she is concerned with her patients total health. One time my son, who also has arthritis, went to the visit with me and she even answered questions for him and seemed concerned about his condition. She is very knowledgeable and an excellent provider. Easy to talk to. I would send my friends and/or family to her, and I have recommended her to them.
