Dr. Raul B. Tallo, MD

After reading some of the comments on here I had to write this - I have been seeing Dr. Tallo for almost 30 years. I was diagnosed at 28 with RA. Dr. Tallo is quiet at first- but don't mistake the quiet for "Uncaring and a bad bedside manner". He is listening to what you are telling him - believe me. This man has taken this journey with me for half my life. He listens and evaluates your test results prior to making a decision or prescribing anything. You may wait a few minutes past your scheduled appointment time but that means he is taking the time with another patient not rushing them through an appointment. I cannot say enough kind things about this man. I can't imagine dealing with patients every day who are suffering with chronic pain and often do nothing but complain to him - he maintains a caring and professional demeanor - there is much to be said for that after so many years of practicing medicine. If your experience was not a pleasant one, it may have something to do… with you - you get what you give - Doctors appointments are no different. Invest in yourself and your care - be proactive but be pleasant. Trust me it will go a long way. He treated me like a lab rat and his staff treated me like a nuisance. There is no patient involvement allowed. Don’t ask questions. He put in my chart that “the patient was informed” AFTER he didn’t explain the treatment AND told me not to go online and read about it. He does not allow patient input. He put in my chart that I was “non compliant” because I had bad reactions to the medications. I was aware of treatment being trial and error, but with a doctor that won’t discuss anything with you, and won’t allow input, makes it impossible to gain any ground on any sort of treatment. ZERO help with pain. Told me to do lots of stretching. He won’t prescribe anything for pain because of the DEA. My diseases are difficult enough to deal with, BUT to have a dismissive doctor, and combative office staff, makes it impossible. I have Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and a half dozen other autoimmune diseases. I suffered for a year with this practice… and I refuse to have to fight tooth and nail anymore for my concerns to be heard. If you have high homocysteine be aware that Plaquenil, Sulphasalazine, and Methotrexate which all increase homocysteine. All three made me feel like I was dying but he would not listen to me and actually put in my chart I was non-compliant like it was my fault. So he was increasing my homocysteine levels to detrimental levels and wouldn't listen to me or read my medical history showing that I already had too high levels of homocysteine and hyperhomocysteinemia.

I went from a walker to 95% pain free due to the care and knowledge of Doctor Tallo treating my rheumatoid arthritis. I thank God for finding him!

Dr. Tallo spends extra time with his patients trying to reassure them and help find answers. I have been seeing him for at least ten years. He always works with you to find the best solutions for you. He listens to your concerns and answers your questions. I have never had any of my friends or acquaintances say a bad word about him, they all love him. I see him for several health issues: bursitis, arthritis, a herniated disc, and fibromyalgia.

Waited an hour and 15 minutes after my appointment time his computer wasn't working properly he never looked me in the eye once he never asked me my name has no people skills whatsoever and does not care about his patients. No bedside manner at all. Did not listen to a word I said

Doctor Tallo is extremely smart, kind and wonderful. He is treating me for rheumatoid arthritis and making great strides.

Dr. Tallo is just okay. He is nice, but understanding what is going on in your treatment exactly is difficult. The "nurses" are bad secretaries, and forget call backs or follow ups without you staying on top of them. Lastly, don't go in blind, do your research because getting things explained is confusing, if they even know an answer (doctor or nurses.) You have to stay on top of everything here and know what's going on by yourself because they're favorite answer to any question is "I don't know...let me get back to you." And then they don't get back to you, until you call sometimes multiple times. Aggravating! I'm switching doctors very soon.
