Dr. Ravinder Pal Mediratta, MD

Dr. Mediratta treated my wife (married 45+ years) with a long list of prescription drugs for years. He continued to prescribe Ambien for her even though she is a senior and suffered multiple falls requiring surgery while under the influence of his prescriptions. His consultations last only a matter of minutes, while the adverse effects of his prescribing practices effect the patient and family for the worse for years.

He has kept me on track and pretty stable through getting a degree in a stressful career and raising a family. I’ve had quite a few trauma’s that he has helped me through. He is quick, and very logical but that is how he works. He’s saved me many times. If he’s not your style find another Dr. And Joyce his Secretary is amazing.

He doesn't pay any attention to his patients. When you see you always have repeat what your situation, even though you told him last time. I needed more and different meds because a trauma that recently happen and I have retell it everytime. Then he stares at you blankly. Don't plan on spending more than 2 minutes with the Dr. Mediratta, most the time it's more like 30 seconds, and he calls it a brief session on your insurance bill and you still pay reg. rate. The receptionist in the office is an awsome lady, very kind. There is also a psychologist in the office too, Kristen Gillen. She is great!!! I trust her with my life.

By far one of the worst physicians that I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. Sadly I felt that my money and my insurance were of more interest to this individual than my health and well being. Zero empathy, the personality of granite, and a "good cop/bad cop" version of Geor(gia) and Gracie Allen running the office. The older woman is a saint... the middle-aged lady is far from appropriate for working in an office dealing with patients struggling with emotional health issues. Then again, so is the doctor. Also... if you are at all skittish about seeing a counselor, you might want to know that there is a sign wit MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC in LARGE letters facing the busy street so that all who drive by and see you walk in the building know just what you're there for. ;)

I would (and did, back in the mid-90s) trust this doctor with my life. He was very knowledgeable about the medications, and he knew what medications to begin with for each individual person. In any case, though, finding the perfect psychiatric medication requires some trial and error, so be prepared to offer the doctor specifics, ie: this medication relieved depression but left me groggy; or this medication worked in the morning but wore off by afternoon. This provides him with the data he needs to zero in on the correct medication and dosage.
