Dr. Ravisankar Rao Avva, MD

I have been dealing with gall bladder issues for over a year. Nov 2018 to 02-2019 I've been to see Dr Avva's office probably 8 or 9 times with the same issues since Dec 2017. Out of those 8 times he actually seen me once. They did run a few gall bladder tests and found tiny gall stones. Back in Nov of 2018 I called (this was the 8th or 9th time) with the same pain issues in my gall bladder area like I had every other time. It flares up at night and keeps me awake for hours its so uncomfortable. Finally a gastrologist sent me to see a surgeon and they recommended me having my GB removed. Now I have to pay 3000.00 out of pocket for my insurance deductible when this could have been taken care in 2018 when I already met my deductible. I told his assistant Yolanda that I have met my deductible can you please send me to a surgeon or try any other tests back in Nov 2018 and she just said there is nothing we can do. One more thing, When Dr Avva seen me in Nov he just said try… drinking more water. Basically there lack of taking time with a patient will now cost me an extra 3K because this wasn't handled in 2018. Especially after my deductible was met. Make sure you can find a doctor that will take time and listen instead of throwing there hands up the the air when you have the same ongoing issue

Dr. Avva has been my physician for quite a number of years and I have nothing but praise for him and his staff. I've always felt I was treated as both patient and friend. He has a sharp mind and is clearly very good at what he does but he extends beyond that to being a person of most excellent character who really cares for his patients. I pray God's blessing may be upon him in what has to be one of the toughest jobs in the world. Also, the staff at the office are a great bunch of people. I am fortunate to have this resource.
