Dr. Ray Burnett Bennett, MD

I feel compelled to share my unsettling experience with Dr. Ray Bennett, a seemingly caring physician who, in reality, prioritizes financial gain over patient well-being. My encounter involved deceptive billing practices during an annual physical, leaving me frustrated and disillusioned with the doctor-patient relationship. Dr. Bennett scheduled my blood work for my annual physical the week before my appt under the guise of making the physical exam more productive because my test results would be available to review. However, what it did in reality was set the stage for Dr. Bennett to bill the Aetna/CVS for the physical when the bloodwork was done, and then use the actual appointment for the physical as a sick visit, billing Aetna/CVS $300+ and triggering my copay of $50. It was not a sick visit. No new prescription or diagnosis was offered, nor change in care. It was an annual exam. He continued the ruse with a 90 day follow up for made up reasons. I have cancelled that appt.

When my insurance changed from BCBS to AetnaCVS, I had to find a new primary care DR. I checked the reviews and Dr Bennett seemed caring & his practice seemed efficient because they arranged for my blood work to be done the week before to have the results during my physical. I thought that was a good practice because you could choose your own fasting schedule & have a physical appointment in an afternoon. I was looking forward to what my new relationship with this younger doctor would be. My warning: Because they did the blood work the week before, they put tests in for insurance claim on the physical. So that when I come back for my actual in person annual physical which I thought was an opportunity for my new DR to get to know my medical history & my current situation to make sure I stayed healthy for another year, they bill the insurance and you as if it was a sick visit. If I had been sick,and needed a new script or treatment, sure. This was an annual physical, not a sick visit.… It's a grift. I've disputed it. I've shown the dates. I've shown the outcome of the visit. Speaking directly with their billing department as well as with Aetna, nothing can be done. I have to pay the copay, otherwise it will go to collections and then it will affect my credit score. But I can change care providers, make sure any future doctor doesn't plan on doing the same con job on me, and I can make other people aware to avoid this doctor and his unethical practices. Oh yeah and by the way it is like pulling your wisdom teeth to get him to get a prescription filed with your pharmacy in a timely manner, literally every time I need to get a refill, on a 30-day basis because he refuses to authorize 90 days on my maintenance prescriptions, I have to call the office, text the number they provide, multiple times and eventually get the office and the pharmacy on the phone at the same time to make sure the prescription goes through. I have just started seeing this doctor in September and have had to do this three times just to get my 30 day prescription. It's December.

Dr. Bennett genuinely cares about his patients & he makes it obvious. He's the most down to earth doctor I have ever met & is a pleasure to interact with. He goes far & beyond the call of duty to make sure you feel better. I would (& have) recommended him to many people.

Dr. Bennett was very calm, decisive, attentive and caring. I trust him as a medical provider. He's very patient in helping me to understand thoroughly my medical conditions. He spent the appropriate time with me to discuss my medical concerns. His office environment was very clean, comforting, friendly and courtious. The wait time was excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Bennett as a doctor to my family, friends....anyone.

Dr. Bennett had all the interpersonal skills that a lot of doctors lack. He got the grass-root of my problem which had been on-going and undetected by other doctors. I'm on my way to recovery! "At Last"
