Dr. Raymond Joseph Metz JR., MD

Dr. Metz is very attentive and personable, with a good sense of humor. He answered all my questions clearly and thoroughly, and didn't seem rushed at all. He performed endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands (2 weeks apart) and I am very happy with the process, start to finish.

After 10+years of suffering from carpel tunnel on my right hand it got the the point where surgery was the only option. I was referred to Dr. Metz by my neurologist. Dr. Metz did all of the required tests, xRays, EMG's on both hands, standard tests, etc. before providing me with the hard facts that surgery was the best option again in order to lead a normal life. At 52, I could not imagine continuing with this pain. He thoroughly explained the procedure and when the time came to operate, he and his surgical staff had the best bedside manner I have ever experienced. He was professional, funny and made me feel very relaxed. The recovery was great, pain was minimal. He is definitely a Dr. that takes pride in his work and the outcome. I feel very fortunate that I was referred to him and would recommend him in heartbeat!

Dr Metz diagnosed me with a partially torn ligament in my thumb. I opted for therapy at first. I didnt get the results I wanted from therapy so then I had surgery to repair the ligament. I had a great experience at Geneva Surgical Suites. They were professional, friendly and comforted me. Dr Metz told me exactly what to expect with my recuperation and was aggressive with starting exercises on my hand and thumb. He was professional, intelligent and listened to me regarding when we thought I could return to work. That helped lessen my stress due to it being my dominant hand and having a very physical job. This in turn probably helped with my healing. I am extremely happy with getting the function back in my thumb and being practically pain free. I would definitely recommend Dr Metz!

Dr. Metz performed a joint replacement on my hand. Surgery went well and was a great experience. Facility and staff were awesome. All the pain was gone after surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Metz

An extremely knowledgable and friendly doctor. So helpful and glad to answer any all questions. Explained every thing up front, so no surprises. I had orthoscopic carpal tunnel surgery. He did an awesome job and I started improving almost immediately. After 61 years of playing drums and then having to almost stop, he has helped me continue my playing… I would go back to him and his staff in a heartbeat if I need anything else in his area of expertise. An absolutely wonderful experience.

He spent a good amount of time with me going over options for treating my wrist He seemed very professional and eager to help but leaves room without saying good bye or ask if any questions When I did have a question i was only allowed to talk to his tech who came back with a different story than discussed with the dr. Not happy over this communication I contacted the office manager who took all my information I never received a call back from doctor - I reviewed a note instead that he could no longer treat me. If you call what he did as treatment - I call waste of time .Doctor a liar or just doesn't care or changed his mind on treatment and instead of admitting that wants me to believe he never offered that treatment .

Dr. Metz was the 4th specialist I saw in regards to a pain in my hand/wrist that everyone else diagnosed as carpal tunnel. He was the one that figured out it was not carpal tunnel but Pronator's syndrome instead. He provided injections and after those were no longer working recommended surgery. 2 months after the surgery and I was able to finally do things I couldn't do before. PT was right above his office and it was very convenient and the staff were flexible.
