Dr. Rebecca Lynn Dorsett, MD

much kicked me out with my kids. This has never ever happened to me before with any other doctor. I had no child care, wasn’t told she had a policy that did not allow kids in her office, my kids were both under two, and she said that she did not allow kids if she was going to examine me. I was like, they’re under 2... what could they possibly see that they’d know about at their age? So I left and was told to come back “alone” the next day if possible. I mean, I live out of town, went to her because she had decent looking reviews, and then she does this? Second, when I returned, she took a long time to see me even though she knew I was pressed for time (I had a root canal later that day). When she came in, she was cold, rough, and did not want to help me with my other woman problems. She recommended I see other doctors for all my other issues and so then I thought... so why did I come here then? I thought as a Gyno she’d be able to help me out with my other problems (other Gynos had… before), so yeah ... she only does Gyno stuff. Don’t expect her to help you with anything extra that is related to your woman health (I mentioned postpartum depression to her and she said I didn’t have it and should consult a different doctor, I have hypothyroidism and she said I needed to see a specialist for that as well). Third, I waited TWO weeks for my Pap smear results to be given to me (apparently they’re in your patient portal, but NO ONE told me this when I called two days after going in) and TWO weeks for her to tell me that she could not refer me to someone else (only a regular doctor could refer me - this would’ve been nice to know when I initially asked for the referral as well). I’ve never been treated so poor by a doctor before. This is hands down the worst experience ever. She is definitely not a doctor I’d recommend for young women. She does not work with you, nor does she take the time to help you with your needs. I will not be returning. The only nice person there was the nurse.

Dr. Rebecca Dorsett has always been professional and compassionate. She takes her time to really listen. She keeps up with the newest of medical issues. She genuinely cares about each of her patients and will make referrals addressing any concerns out of her expertise or field. I am so disappointed that my insurance changed when I have turned 65 and I cannot go to her. I'd highly recommend her to anyone!!!!

I've been going to Dr. Dorsett for about 3 years now and I really enjoy going to her office. Staff is great but Dr. Dorsett has given great care to my hormone treatment and keeps a close eye on my progress. She's really changed the quality of my life for the better. We had a little bump in the road when she moved her practice in with another gynecologist that had a really unorganized office but she's since moved into her own office and things are getting back to normal. I recommend Dr. Dorsett to all of my friends.

I was nice to have a female Gyno to talk to. Mine have always been men, up till a few years ago. She seemed genuinely interested in me and my health. She had valid and understandable solutions to my problems.

I'm a teenager and normally teenagers don't want to go to a doctor like a gynecologist, yet she made me feel very comfortable.

I had been a patient of Dr. Dorsett's for a number of years, mostly due to a referral and just needing my annual checkup as I was past my childbearing years. The last few years have been questionable. Sharing WAY TOO MUCH info about her office challenges, and staff sharing WAY TOO MUCH info about their thoughts on Dr. Dorsett and how she treats them (mean, abrupt and much turnover.) It took months and much prodding to receive a refund of my deductible from her office once my insurance determined it was not necessary to pay that amount...and the amount was not significant.Was Dr. Dorsett horrible and rude to me? No. However, she's way too unprofessional to get near my personal parts again. I will be seeking another option for my annual exam.

Dr. Dorsett has been my gyn for many years and I would NEVER change doctors. I have recommended her to all my friends and family. Dr. Dorsett is very caring and helped my niece through a very very difficult pregnancy when crucial decisions had to be made. I highly recommend her.

Dr.Dorsett was the first gynocologist I have gone to more than once. I had only had 1 pap smear in my life before she gave me one and it was infinately better. She told me exactly what she was doing and why, and put me at ease. When it came back abnormal, she explained everything about it, answered every question, and made everything better. I highly recommend her to first time goers.

Couldn't disagree more with "opinion" I read before. I have been going to Dr. Dorsett 15+ years and have always received vip treatment from her and her staff. She is thorough and I trust her!
