Dr. Rebecca Leigh Thompson Pareja, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Pareja for about a year and half and my only real good experience has been with a different provider in the office. My first appt I was miscarrying after trying to conceive and all she kept doing was trying to push birth control even after I insisted I didn't want it, that I don't do well on it. She called it in anyways. Then I wanted to look into some issues I was having further and then she would be consistently behind (which I don't judge her for because I've worked in the medical field and I understand things happen that aren't under our control) and then would get to me and rush me and I feel like nothing about our visit was complete because I still had questions, this was for 4 straight visits. 1 of these visits I heard her bad mouthing me because I stopped a medication so we could see if it was the cause of my migraines. Not even a med she prescribed, one a pcp prescribed.. We got the diagnosis and started me on medications and still wanted to push for birth… control while I'm actively trying. Months go by and I end up pregnant and she's out on maternity leave which is fine and understandable but I called several times trying to get in because I felt something was wrong. It would take more than a week to be seen and in the end I was suffering a ectopic pregnancy and my tube had already ruptured and I walked around for several day like this because of scheduling. The doctor who performed my surgery was amazing. He is apart of this clinic and made me feel comfortable and took great care of me during and even post op. Later when I schedule my well check I get the a few minutes early. I had no intention on trying to be seen early just wanted to make sure i was on time and any paperwork that was needed was done. (If you aren't early, you are late in my book). Multiple doctors are working the office at one time but it seemed like I kept getting passed. 35 mins passed my appt I'm the only one in the waiting room and I'm told "she doesn't like when her patients are early". Almost as if it was a punishment and making me wait on purpose. The doctor who did my surgery luckily step in and seen me and I'm so grateful for this. I do believe she has the right mind set but I also feel like because I'm not actively pregnant and keep having losses that I'm not as important to her and just a number to her.
