All of the negative reports on this site are twisted by ignorance and personal agenda. I have been seeing this doctor for years and KNOW her to be the most helpful and compassionate doctor around.

She tricked me into going to the ER when I wasn't even feeling depressed or suicidal that week (I visited the ER a week prior due to that issue, but after that happened I was fine), which led to a series of emotional distress because I was transferred to the psych ward against my will. I came back after I was released almost a week later, explained the situation, and she didn't even seem to care. I asked if she could sign my dog off as an ESA at least since I had no choice but to move back in with my parents in Alaska and I refused to leave my dog (which I told her was one of the only things that kept me going in life), but she refused to sign anything because I was taking her on the plane with me (she was going to be in cargo). Then she proceeded to judge me because of that, saying that was animal abuse. Then she started basing her idealizations off of the news. Like, "Oh I hear on the news that dogs die on planes all the time." "Oh I hear on the news that people are more and more… allergic to dogs on the plane." "Oh well I hear on the news that more and more people are faking these things to get out of paying for stuff." She KNEW how depressed I was and she was confusing emotional support animals with service animals, and she also refused to do anything unless she saw my dog and made sure that they were well behaved in public. Again, I was asking for my dog to be and ESA not a service animal!

My adult daughter hoped to get compassionate care/trust from Dr. Tanner. Instead she encountered a physician who seemed aloof and condescending... questioning why she still lived with her parents (“my kids knew they were out of the house at 18”) and seemed doubtful on the different medical concerns my daughter brought up. My daughter felt she was talked down to instead of finding a physician she can trust. To make matters worse, my daughter listed depression and anxiety on the entrance form. What a way to welcome a new patient... distrust and further breaking down one’s self esteem. Will find a new PCP!
