Dr. Reena Anthony Tharappel-Jacob, MD

After an ovarian cyst was documented as increasing in size, Dr. Jacob recommended surgery to remove it. I attended multiple appointments, followed all instructions, and scheduled the procedure. Less than a month before surgery, I was informed that it was being cancelled due to unspecified “concerns” and that I would be referred elsewhere. When I asked for an explanation, I received multiple conflicting answers from office staff, including bladder issues, bowel issues, and tissue issues. None had ever been discussed with me previously. I repeatedly requested to speak directly with Dr. Jacob and was promised multiple callbacks. After numerous calls and messages, four business days have passed and I have still received no response. Medical decisions can change, but patients deserve clear communication and respect. Cancelling surgery for a growing condition without explanation, providing contradictory information, and then failing to return calls is unacceptable. Patients deserve… better.

I like the doctor . But staff is not good. So bad I changed the doctor because of the staff.

Doctor is ok but have no control over the staff. Sonia is ignorant and have no manners. Had two miscarriage in a row and when I called doctor sonia said she is too busy to return callls. Called two days no call back from the doctor even though had miscarriage two days before.

Dr. Jacob is nice front desk is so unprofessional untrustworthy. Dr. Jacob had lost me as a patient because of her staff. Worst experience ever

I don't think the staff especially Sonia doesn't know the civil rights. "Civil rights" are the rights of individuals to receive equal treatment (and to be free from unfair treatment or "discrimination") in a number of settings -- including education, employment, housing, and more -- and based on certain legally-protected characteristics. Historically, the "Civil Rights Movement" referred to efforts toward achieving true equality for African-Americans in all facets of society, but today the term "civil rights" is also used to describe the advancement of equality for all people regardless of race, sex, age, disability, national origin, religion, or certain other characteristics.

Both of my daughter have been seeing Dr. Jacob. Although Dr. Jacob is good her office staff is severely lacking and will be the reason after 8 years both my girls seek out a different Gynecologist. The staff will refuse to let you speak to the doctor (return call at a later time of course) if you have questions about your lab results, they attempt to explain them though they are not qualified to do so, rarely answer the phone, do not understand how deductibles work; tell you that you do not have one even when you know you do and try to pay it, instead they bill you later for it and play dumb about your office conversation. The final straw for us was a lab result that is very worrisome with very good reason but Sonia refuses to let us speak to the doctor unless my daughter makes an appointment (weeks and no time). In other words pay for another office visit to discuss the results. Until Dr. Jacob replaces her office staff with competent help I would not suggest ever visiting this… practice.

This Dr needs to get her office organized. I have never seen a Dr office with bad front desk staff as this. They do not follow up with patients, you can never get them to answer the phone. Always have to leave more than one message. It is the worse service I have seen. Life is too stressful to have to deal with disorganized Dr like this.

I only gave her one star because they don't allow you to give 0 stars. She was once a great doctor and she use to care for her patients but not anymore. Now her patients are nothing but $$$ to her.

Dr Reena Jacob was my OB with my 1st baby. Things were good then . This time no one picks up phone when you call. I waited more than an hour to see her for a short 15 mins. I felt rushed and she didn't ask any history. I hope future visits get better or else I will find another dr.

Very disappointed with Dr. Jacob and her staff. They were very rude.
