Dr. Regina Lynn Belmonte, MD

Dr Belmonte performed an invasive surgery on me without numbing me in any way. Every doctor I’ve asked after having this surgery done to me has said they would have numbed the area with local anesthesia first. She cut into me with a scalpel and ignored me wailing in pain. I asked before the procedure if I could be numbed and she said that’s not how it’s done, which by every account, is a lie. I asked if I could have a moment to think about it beforehand, she declined. This woman is cruel and in no way cares about her patients. Please, spare your wellbeing and don’t see this doctor. I could cry just thinking about this experience. I don’t understand how this was allowed to happen. And to top it all off, the surgery was ineffective.

I was a patient of Dr Belmonte’s for many years. I liked her and trusted her. As a 15 year breast cancer survivor, I depended upon her to give me competent follow-up exams. During my last appointment with her, she asked me a standard question - did I have any abnormal vaginal bleeding. My answer was “yes” - it happened one time. Her response was that if only happened once, that it was ok. One year later, I found myself in a gynecological oncologist’s office, diagnosed with uterine cancer. I’m here to tell you that it is NOT ok if you bleed even once - sometimes one single symptom is the only chance we are given. I sent copies of all of my medical records to Dr Belmonte’s office during both my surgeries and treatments. After being her patient for years, she never once reached out to me. I suppose she was afraid that I was going to sue her for negligence. I definitely should have. It’s been several years since my diagnosis and treatment, and am currently cancer-free, no thanks to Dr… Belmonte. Please find another physician for your own sake.

Sorry to read the negative comments here. Dr. Belmonte is well informed and efficient and keeps her patients educated on their conditions and preventive care. When I rate physicians, I don't rate them on if they are my buddy or not, I rate them on the care they provide. She's good to go!

I have never in all my life been treated so poorly by a healthcare professional. Dr. Belmonte inspected me (roughly) for 2 minutes and before even having tests she told me my concerns were false and I wasn't really experiencing anything that i was saying. She is cold, rushed, emotionless, rude, and argumentative as well. I wouldn't let her inspect my dog let alone another human being. If you want someone who will take your concerns seriously please RUN! Don't go to her. I have noticed a lot of other horrible reviews about her and now I know why.

After a very rigurous search for a Obgyn me and my husband optained for Dr. Belmonte eventough her rewievs were not as great however we trusted her background education. Let me tell you that our exeperience was great from day one till our daughter was born , yes she does not like small talk if that's waht you are looking in a Dr but she gives you all the information that you have to know . Before my due date me and my husband did not sign up for any classes , it would've been a waist of time ! She couched me throughout the whole process , my daughter was a big girl , almost 8lbs and I did not tear at all thanks to her patience . Thank you Dr. Belomnte !!!

Dr. Belmonte delivered my first child and will deliver my second child this summer. I had complications, including pre-term labor, with my first child. Dr. Belmonte made consistently good choices about my care which I believe saved me from having a very premature infant. The resident at Prentice nearly sent me home, but Dr. Belmonte insisted that I stay another hour for observation. During that hour, I went into full labor which, because I was at the hospital, was able to be stopped. She may not be the warmest doctor, but I'm not looking for a new best friend. I want a competent professional that doesn't sugar-coat and provides me the information I need.I know that others have complained that she can be critical of overweight and obese women, but I find that refreshing. Doctors are on the front lines of the obesity epidemic and if you can't hear honest advice from your doctor, who can you hear it from?

I'm a current patient of doctor Belmonte's and was somewhat surprised to see the negative feedback on here. I think that at most, I've waited 10 minutes in her office. She's always been nice and honest, which I like the most about her.
