I can unreservedly and enthusiastically recommend urologist Dr. Reid Graves.
1. Crucially, he carefully listens to the patient.
2. He asks questions, and incorporates the patient’s answers into his thinking.
3. He reads and refers to the history/chart multiple times during the diagnosis process.
4. He and his staff perform all necessary and appropriate tests, and he explains how they apply.
5. He performs a complete urologic exam.
6. He considers and frankly explains the treatment options, benefits and associated risks.
7. He’s empathetic, accommodating, and not in the least bit arrogant.
8. He makes, and takes the time to clearly explain, his diagnosis and recommendation.
9. He brings consummate surgical skills and experience into the operating room, and works with the patient and the anaesthesiologist to obtain an optimum surgical and post-op outcome. In my case, Dr. Graves discovered and addressed an unusual BPH condition, which he was able to expertly… resolve with a green-light laser procedure, performed under spinal, rather than regular, anaesthesia.
10. I experienced no post-op pain, and virtually no bleeding. Dr. Graves prescribed a course of oxycontin, in case I needed it. His recommendation of o.t.c Alleve, however, sufficed to control any potential pain or inflammation.
11. His follow-up, and that of his staff, is superb.
12. Post-operatively, my system is functioning properly once again.
13. In short, Dr. Graves restored my health and quality of life.
Lest anyone suggest this is what is to be expected of any surgeon or urologist, experience indicates otherwise. It took considerable time and effort to find Dr. Graves, whom I did not previously know from Adam. It was well worth travelling to St. Petersburg to avail myself of his skill and expertise.
The proverb holds true:
“All excellent things are as difficult as they are rare.”
