My son who is in college needed an allergy consultation. He asked for an in-network provider and was sent to an out of network provider, resulting in a bill of $700+. Very irresponsible provider.

Unfortunately I have to warn anyone who is thinking about going to One Medical or seeing Dr. Avirah to think twice. I spent a few years going to One Medical because of my company providing a free membership to them, and biggest mistake of my life. This place appears to have all the bells and whistles of modern technology but it's really a giant mess with doctors who are completely incompetent, careless, and out of their league when it comes to anything beyond the most simplistic of issues. I was told I needed multiple breast biopsies due to the incompetence of this doctor, when shortly after the nightmare ordeal and unnecessary cancer scare, I visited another doctor who was shocked based on my physical exam that I was sent to such an extreme procedure. Well now thanks to this doctor I have a metal marker inside of me that will be there forever for no good reason. Following this horror, I made the mistake of going back for another appointment over a dandruff/seborrheic dermatitis… issue (which was most likely caused by the extreme stress of the previously mentioned issue, but I wanted to get it checked just in case) and had nightmare #2. The office first sent me an email saying everything came back normal, but then I got a nice surprise. Dr. Avirah sent me an email around 10:30 PM a week later, indicating that I had a fungal infection that was resistant to all known medication and that I could try some medications if I felt like it. To no one's surprise I was extremely worried upon reading this and called the office the next day to find out that she was out on vacation for the next week. When I asked to speak with another doctor and emailed and called multiple times that day, I was unable to ever get in touch with another doctor. Eventually a nurse replied saying that this issue was not something they know much about and that I should go see a doctor outside of their practice. Are you kidding me?! Again, I went to another doctor who told me that I could forget everything this doctor had said, that the results were not accurate, and that even if they were the medications she suggested were incorrect. This place should not be trying to treat things that are outside of their speciality, leaving incredibly serious medical diagnoses over email at ungodly hours only to be unresponsive, let alone even running a medical practice at all. I hope this can help save someone else from going through any sort of similar nightmare to what I went through. One Medical and Dr. Avirah should be ashamed of themselves.
