Dr. Rena Lorraine Stewart, MD

Dr. Stewart repaired my broken femoral neck bone after I broke it three days before. Can't say enough about her surgery! Replaced the "ball" in its socket and attached it to the femur. Put in five layers of stitches, not three. Glued the outer layer so it is positively closed up and safe from infection. I can even take a shower with it. At 82, I figured recovery would be lengthy. Not so. A couple of days after the surgery I was walking with a walker and eight days after the surgery I am walking almost normally. What a great surgeon! My highest recommendation for sure. Thank you Dr. Stewart.

Excellent doctor!! I would rate a 10 out of a 10 if I could. So blessed she was the one who operated on my wrist. I highly recommend her. Very, very thorough and she did a beautiful job on my wrist!! Had no pain and it healed up quickly. I just can’t say enough about her and Trust me I never, ever write reviews. This is a first!!

Her medical expertise left my dad suffering from his fatality. It is a shame she is allowed to practice. Karma!

Very easy to work with. Repaired my broken ankle and it's healing nicely with no pain after the first 10 days. She spent a lot of time with me. She is direct but professional. Answered all my questions and offered helpful suggestions.

She did my dad wrong.. Almost 7 years later after his accident and surgery, he is in constant pain 24/7. He was taken to UAB because of their facilities. Stewart was his doctor. Stewart lied, did not care, and did not do what was ethical and right in the medical field. It is a shame she is still practicing.

Dr. Stewart doesn't care about her patients. She really should have gone into acting, that seems to be a better fit. She acts like a doctor but the outcome of her services is frightening. I would stay away, I wish I had.

After my accident i didnt think id be able to climb and work again. Dr Stewart repaired my shattered left scapula and i followed her physical therapy plan and was able to return to working that year. With proper exercise and stretching,i have no problems climbing trees and working today. I would recommend Dr Stewart to anyone.

When my mother was admitted to UAB with a broken hip we requested that her Ortho. surgeon perform the hip replacement. Dr. Stewart sent her students to our room to convince us how we should use Dr. Stewart cause she's great.. I realized right away that didn't sound good (none of the students were convincing.) Next Dr. Stewart arrived to the room, telling us that Dr. Vogel ( the dr. we requested) would be unavailable for days (I later found out that was a lie) and if we didn't do the surgery quickly my mother would probably die. Long story short....Dr. Stewart stitched the prosthesis to my mother's sciatica nerve, and she didn't do the placement correctly, she didn't use cement in a Parkinson's patient, almost always the recommendation for hip replacements. Dr. Stewart did not appear for follow up we only saw her again after my mother's second surgery that was an attempt to correct my mother's displaced hip and the sciatic nerve that was wrapped around the loose prosthesis. My… mother never walked again. Dr, Stewart would not even admit there was a problem. Since then I've met many people who have had similar experience with Dr. Stewart. Dr. Stewart is only a doctor according to the medical examiners office, other that a piece of paper handed to her she is in no other way a doctor. Her apathy is despicable, she is well aware of the misery she has caused by her ineptitude, carelessness, and her lack of expertise as a surgeon. I met 3 patients in one week who all had the same outcome, bed ridden for life, because of Dr. Stewarts botched surgeries, I can only imagine how many more there are.
