Dr. Rene Sherwin Parungao, MD

Dr. Sherwin Rene Parungao of St David's Wound Care in South Austin, is unprofessional and disrespectful. I had been having treatments for months at the James Casey location in South Austin, and the only time a change in the course of my treatments occurred was when the nurses would suggest a new medicine, product, procedure or test. Towards the final stretch of my treatments, Dr. Parungao's demeanor completely changed from being normal and active in my care, to being cold, indifferent. and out right ignoring me completely. The only time I would get an answer to my questions would be if I told the nurse first and then during my visit with him, he would provide the answer looking at the nurse, the floor or the curtains that divide the space. He would complete ignore me. I have never done or said anything to Dr. Parungao to deserve such disrespect. My wound healing has stalled, and I blame Dr. Parungao for the stress he has caused me for the past two months with his disrespectful… treatment towards me. I tried to give him the benefit of doubt, that maybe his changed behavior was temporary and that it would pass, especially because I would never do or say anything to jeopardize my own care. I have subsequently moved my care to another would care facility and want to share my experience to warn others. All the nurses were great, but Dr. Parungao has issues.

Dr Parugao has a wonderful bedside manner. he sat with us an explained everything and answered all of our questions. we would recommend him to everyone. wonderful doctor.

We have sought Dr. Parungao's expertise twice and been very pleased both times! He is knowledgeable and professional, coupled with a fantastic bedside manner. We recommend him without reserve for hernia surgery. He is worth the wait at the office!
