Dr. Stephen James Wielgus, MD

I was referred to Dr. Wielgus by my primary physician for pain I was having in my right shoulder. I am so happy that I went to see him. He was very professional and courteous. He listened and was very understanding. I felt like I was with a family friend. He pulled up the x-ray and carefully described everything in the x-ray to me. He was thorough and didn’t shove meds at me or push surgery. He identified the problem after a careful physical examination. He suggested therapy, slight pain meds to help me to not suffer. He put ME first. His associate, Bob, was also a gem. It was so nice to see people who really cared and were determined to make me better. I never felt rushed, or unimportant. He reminded me of the doctors we used to have many years ago. He told me to let him know how I was feeling after the therapy. If it didn’t work, we would go another route. I feel he was the right choice! And the wait time was very fast. I highly recommend Dr. Wielgus!

Dr. Wielgus is an excellent diagnostician with a wonderful bedside manner. He is knowledgeable, professional, thorough, a good listener, caring, and most important-highly effective in his treatment plans. I would highly recommend him to all.

My varsity basketball player daughter had suffered a sprained ankle and x-rays showed either an old, healed fracture or a new one. When my daughter's eyes welled with tears, you could tell the doctor felt badly for her. He came up with a plan other than waiting for two weeks for another x-ray! I am so appreciative of his efforts and care! Thank you!

Went to the walk in orthopedic clinic in Lincolnshire for a knee injury. It has been bothering me greatly for about a week. Dr. Wielgus was very prompt and caring. He spent a lot of time examining my knee, the xrays that were previously done and suggested more xrays today because they were done previously lying down versus standing up. He explained the next steps and referred me for an MRI. Once those results come back, he will let me know my next steps. I was very pleased with my visit today and highly recommend him!

My daughter is not a fan of doctors, but Dr. Wielgus won her over! He took the time to explain things to her without talking down to her. He considered the options and recommended the best course of action for the patient, not the practice.

Dr. Wielgus is a great doctor! He has been treating me for almost a year for knee problems and his care is fantastic. He takes his time, listens to the patient, and answers all your questions. I have a chronic illness (unrelated) and have dealt with many doctors over the last twenty years and Dr. Weilgus is one of the best!
